Keswick Mountain Adventures Description
Keswick Mountain Adventures provide a wide range of land and water based outdoor adventure activities and events. We are based in Keswick, in the northern Lake District, where our rugged mountains and tranquil lakes and rivers provide a stunning location for our activities. Keswick Mountain Adventures' guides have over 37 years experience, teaching outdoor adventure activities: hill walking, mountain skills, navigation, mountaineering, gorge walking, scrambling, rock climbing & other land based pursuits. Our instructors and guides live close to Keswick in the northern Lake District & have outstanding local knowledge of the areas' classic rock climbs; its hidden ghyll scrambling gems, the popular summits and its tranquil lesser known hill walks. We work hard to provide you with the outdoor experience you want - whether that's adventure holidays for families; activity weekend breaks in our increasingly popular stag do destinations. Not to be outdone; many a girls weekend away now includes outdoor pursuits and- all sorts of city living stressed out workers and professionals choose us to create unusual weekend breaks UK appetites can warm to. Although some people might not call what we do "work" – given that we get to spend all day doing the things we love.

Well done to Nicola and Westie on Thors Buttress on Monday. Not the easiest way to summit Scafell Pike but far more interesting.
I taught Josh to lead climb at the age of 11. He's now 13 and showing great maturity in rock climbing. These are some photo's of Josh lead climbing at Trowbarrow Quarry on Tuesday. Well done Josh.

A brilliant day in Esk Gorge
These are some photo's of an 86 year old gentleman Christopher Braunholtz, who I climbed Napes Needle with this summer. Mr Braunholtz is the Nephew of the famous Edwardian climber Siegfried Hertford, who made the first free ascent of Central Buttress on Scafell. Siegfried had a short but intense life and was sadly killed at the age of 24 fighting in the First World War.
Getting to the base of a Scottish sea stack, someone has to swim across to put the rope in place. As the youngest member of the team, that job was mine.

Like getting wet? We go ghyll scrambling in some of The Lake District’s most stunning locations and this is a wonderful opportunity to go where most people don’t.
Had a very busy week - had a great group form the West Midlands Fire Service , and a great time was had by all!
