Kevin Jones Timber Works Description
I make bespoke furniture and cabinets, guitars and a wide range of other products from timber.
Because I am independent, bespoke does not mean frighteningly expensive - but it does mean you get exactly what you have been looking for or thinking about.
Beyond furniture and guitars I can make just about anything - providing the laws of physics allow it! The range is too diverse to list - take a look through the pictures or visit my website. . . . .

Access ramps and fire escapes for classrooms built to replace the existing failing structures at Felsted Primary School. This job came in at very short notice and I am indebted to Mike Lee who stepped in at equally short notice to give me a hand. Between us we worked some hellish hours though some hellish weather.
Quick little occasional table made to fit into a specific gap and to match existing furniture. Only a little table, though I was pleased with it!
Made to measure pine cupboard to fit into the corner of a knitters' work-room. Customer's choice to leave the right side open.
A little unusual, this one! A table lamp that is also an urn. Knowing of my love for exquisite timbers (from guitar making), I was asked to make a box to be used as an urn (for the storage of the ashes of a loved one). As stunning as a really nice box/urn can be, it just sits there – and when someone asks what it is, that can be a conversation stopper.
So I came up with this idea – this is the proto-type for approval of the recipient. It is an upright box, which functions as ...an urn, but in fact is a table lamp. Should anyone comment on it, you have the option of disclosing what it is – or not! No need ever know what it is.
Also available as just a really tasteful, classy lamp – without the access hole in the bottom. I’ve already had quite a lot of interest/orders for the basic lamp in oak, walnut or ash.

Surround for an old (much loved) desk to convert a spare room to an office space. Stained and finished to match the desk. One fixed shelf at desk height - the others are adjustable.
Giant table-top Battleships game. Stands about a metre high and collapses into two flat cases. This one available for hire from Garden Games Hire UK. It will take you back years!
A few photos of a made to measure solid oak dining room cabinet. Made to fit the existing lines of the fireplace - three larger drawers for place mats etc, three smaller drawers (sub-divided) for cutlery, huge cupboard storage for crockery and an illuminated display through the glass doors.
Another portable crazy golf course. This one available for hire from Ace Inflatables - Uckfield, Sussex area
3 mtr long fitted wardrobe with solid oak doors and an 8 drawer chest built into the centre section. Built into a natural alcove in the room - it has a stud work wall and coving fitted above. Fitted with soft close hinges and drawer runners and movement sensing lights inside. Really cool.
Small occasional cabinet made from off-cuts specifically so it can be 'distressed' and painted by the customer. I guess 'distressed' means bashed with a hammer - not sure I want to watch that! :-)
Pine wardrobe/cupboard fitted into a chimney breast recess - made to match existing cupboards in the house.
A quick photo of a few bit to organise a small entrance hallway to a flat. The small recess on the left is deeper one end so the shelves taper to fit. It will store 8 pairs of shoes (sideways), leaving the floor clear. The shelves, the mirror and the coat hook rack all from matching solid oak. Photo doesn't really do it justice..
Small kitchen/occasional table made from an off-cut of kitchen worktop supplied by the customer - so it matches everything else in the kitchen. A little quirky perhaps, though still nice. Legs made from Cherry - a close match to the Bamboo top.

Re-fret on an old Telecaster. The original frets replaced with larger, Les Paul style frets and polished to a mirror finish. Changes the feel of a Telecaster - most say for the better.
A 1973 Fender Telecaster Thinline. The existing white paint was an awful re-paint job - so, at the owners request, I stripped off the paint back to the timber and applied clear lacquer. Nice guitar now!
