J/11S Wins Class at Antigua Sailing Week!!
Congratulations to Jonty and Vicki Layfield’s Antiguan J/11s Sleeper, champions in Class CSA5 at Antigua Sailing Week! The team scored their sixth win in Race 8 to take class honours.
Jonty said; "We are very pleased as we had stiff competition from Sir Richard Mathew’s boat Holding Pattern that included some very good professional sailors including Saskia Clark and Andy Green. The wind conditions all week were in the high teens and... with the single rudder she really performs well. We also won best Caribbean boat and the Royal Southern Challenge Cup, beating Scarlet Oyster which is no mean feat. We were the best J Boat beating two J/122s, a J/120, a J/145, and J/30.
Also we just missed out on winning the coveted Lord Nelson Trophy by a fraction of a point to Sojana, so this means that we were second overall out of 50 odd boats in Sailing Week."

Great shots from today! Congratulations to Bruce Huber’s team on new J/112E Xanaboo, who preserved their perfect scoreline for the series in IRC2, a J heavy class that saw 4 Js in 1st-4th for both races! 👌🏻🍾

Even #StormHannah can’t keep a man from his new boat! Clarissa carried out handovers on two #jboats today, starting with a pre-owned #j109 which is off to Germany. This afternoon the owner of our latest #j112 came to see her for the first time with his children, they previously had a #j35 and are thrilled to bits with their upgrade. Thanks to MDL Marinas for getting her offloaded so quickly! #sailing #hamble #yachtbroker #cruiserracer #performanceyacht #cruisingyacht

Congratulations to J/121s Darkwood and Rock Lobster, 1st and 2nd in Class 3! J/Boats, Newport, RI #jboats #j121
This was Darkwood's first regatta, so an incredible result! Proud new owner Michael said; "Strong spring tides, and unseasonably warm weather greeted the first JOG offshore race of the season, a sprint (in theory at least) to Cherbourg on Good Friday. We were sailing our straight out of the box J121, Darkwood, going head to head with our sister ship, Rock Lobster,... for the first time. It was the latter who made the better start in the full flood tide and light winds, leading the fleet east between the forts and out of the Solent. On Darkwood we took a more easterly route across the channel in the fickle winds, which through more luck than judgement was enough to see us take line honours and a class win, with Rock Lobster taking second in class.
First impressions of the boat: easily driven, well thought out and fast! Enjoyed boat for boat racing with Rock Lobster, and looking forward to re-engaging with her and our other J121 sistership as the RORC offshore season commences."
