Toddler 2
We have been showing lots of interest in the plants we have been growing in the garden. We have some more seeds to plant so we all had a go at filling up our own plant pots! We spoke about whether our pots were empty, full or nearly full. When we looked at the seeds we discussed how plants grow, the importance of sunlight and water to flowers and that we need to be very gentle with them when they start to grow.

Toddler 2
Last week we had a lot of discussion about things we can make with our play dough. We started with the pipe cleaners and decided they looked like a spider!! We spoke about lots of different bugs and how many legs they had, we chose what colour legs we wanted our bugs to have. One child suggested that the pipe cleaners look like candles in a cake, so we started talking about when we have cakes and got onto the topic of Lisa's wedding! We made Lisa some really lovel...y play dough cakes and very proudly presented them to her, Lisa loved them!

Mark making in toddler one, the children enjoyed exploring the marks they could make by rubbing a crayon over the paper on different objects out in the garden, they chose a tyre, wall, tree, the floor and the wooden balancing beam. Each object made a different mark from the rubbing. playing and exploring

Toddler one have been baking out in the mud kitchen today, we used gluten free flour, wet tissue paper and bark. the children loved mixing it all together with water and then pretended to cook it. playing and exploring.

Toddler one have had a lovely trip out around the business park to look at the new ducklings, we talked about the colours and we counted how many ducklings we could see. active learning

We are sure you will all agree how important sharing stories is with our children. With this in mind we have started a lending library at reception. We have some books for you to borrow to read at home and would welcome any contributions, so that all our children can enjoy reading lots of different books with their family and friends :)
There are also some copies of a leaflet - 'Bath, Book, Bed'. You are welcome to take a copy, it includes "simple steps to a better nights sleep", featuring Daddy Pig!

We have enjoyed exploring the soil, water and hay in Woddler Two 🧐
We used our hand eye coordination skills to fill and empty containers and also our concentration skills to use the syringes in the water. We loved getting messy with our friends and exploring different textures 😁
Playing and Exploring

Toddler 2
Today we have been exploring our emotions, we read a story about feeling happy, sad, silly and angry. After that we practised our different emotions for the camera, we found it really funny doing silly faces! We all struggled to do sad faces as we smiled straight away for the camera! We have been talking all day about how our actions might make our friends feel, and trying to read our friends emotions from their facial expressions.

Toddler one have had a funfilled day today, The rain was coming down pretty hard so we put all the chairs in a row and pretended to go to the beach on the train. We was given a train ticket with a number on and boarded the train with our friends. We talked about what we would find and see at the beach. playing and exploring.

Toddler 2 - Happy Minds :)
Today we have been focusing on our happy minds. We spent a lot of time on the parachute doing yoga. We then had a little rest on the mat before singing sleeping bunnies and other variations of the song such as sleeping lions and sleeping dinosaurs!

Toddler 2 - Magnets!
We have really enjoyed exploring the magnets and seeing what we can pick up :)
We tried lots of different objects from around the room and spoke about what they were made of. We found it very funny that the magnets could pick up some of our metal toys!

Toddler one have had a fun filled morning exploring in the den we made outside, we then made a fire by using tissue paper and sticks and putting it in the tyre. playing and exploring.

Toddler 2 - Physical development
We are not just playing, we are learning to assess risk whilst balancing/climbing and feel confident to ask for help if we feel we need it. We have also been doing really well at pushing the bikes and we are getting really fast!
