**Woddler one** In woddler one, we have really enjoyed reading a story about ducks. We talked about their different features and colours and linked in counting. To extend from this we explored feathers and made links to the ducks having feathers; talking about how they felt and exploring our sense of touch. To further extend, we went on a trip to feed the ducks, they were very hungry! This helped us with our speech, our sounds in play and helping us to understand the world. QUACK QUACK!!

**Woddler 3** Taking it in turns with our friends, we have been working out how to unlock the different locks on our busy board. We explored the different mechanisms, understanding that some were more difficult than others to open. We kept on trying different ways until we opened them, we were very proud of ourselves. This helped us with our concentration, turn taking and problem solving.

**Woddler 2 and Woddler 3** Last week, we went on a trip to the park to discover all things nature related. We found lots of flowers, especially daisies as we used our different senses of smell and touch to explore them. Using the sticks we found, we enjoyed banging them against the trees to see what music we could create in the natural environment. To further our trip, we went to the hospital to find the ambulances. We spoke about the colours on the different vehicles we saw and the different sounds they made. This helped us with our speech.

--- Babies --- Today we have been caring for our baby dolls, we have been singing to them, patting them to sleep, feeding them milk, changing their nappies, naming parts of their body and giving them lots of cuddles. We extended this by washing the baby dolls in the water tray using brushes and cups to splash the water on them.

--- Toddler 2 --- We have absolutely loved focusing on The Gruffalo as it is some of the children’s favourite story. We began by reading the story then talking about what each character looks like, pretending to move around the room like the different animals. Following this we made Gruffalo crumble, developing our Maths skills learning about containers being full and empty. We even made Gruffalo tea and practised pouring the cold tea, then practised cutting out pictures of The Gruffalo!

--- Toddler 1 --- Toddler 1 have been experimenting with magnets this week. Rhian collected lots of different objects together and the children took it in turns with the magnets to see which objects would stick. We learnt that the magnet doesn’t stick to plastic but it does stick to metal! Some objects were quite heavy so we had to work together to pick up some of them.

***Pre School*** One of our friends brought in a book about a baby robot which we enjoyed reading together and this led onto some amazing activities! We have been creating our own baby robot pictures focusing on shape recognition. We then constructed our own robots using a range of large and small building materials. Some of us made a large robot as a team using boxes and wooden blocks etc and some of us created smaller robots with duplo. Then whilst in the garden we created some large scale robot drawings continuing our shape recognition as we made a rectangle robot, circle robot and a diamond robot. We also loved role playing turning into robots too!!

***Toddler 1*** Our toddler 1 children have been experimenting with colours, shapes and patterns by using the paint and a variety of utensils to create lots of different marks. We also loved using our feet to make footprints on the paper, it was so much fun!!
