Today in Woddler 1 and 2, we have been exploring our new music garden. We really enjoyed using our hands and a variety of tools to explore pipes, tubs, buckets, wind chimes and metal pots.

Today in teaching time prep school have enjoyed exploring a variety of books, holding them the correct way and handling them carefully. We really enjoyed exploring all of the illustrations and print as well as recalling familiar events from our favourite stories.

The babies have been using their physical skills to hold and move around different tools in the paint, they made lots of marks and patterns on the large paper on the floor and at the table ☺️

This week in Woddlers we have enjoyed finding hidden sea animals under different materials.

In Woddler 3 this week we found a woodlice in the garden. From this we went on a bug hunt around the room and garden to see what other bugs we could see. Charlotte brought in maggots and crickets for the children to see :)

Today in teaching time prep school have been exploring our songbirds books as part of our oxford reading tree session, we enjoyed exploring all of the different illustrations throughout the books as well as handling them carefully. We looked carefully at the individual letter sounds and blended them together to create the words.

Whilst playing in the water tray we were focused on using the shapes underneath to learn how to identify them. We then used different coloured paper to try and make our own shapes around them. We then added water and tried to use our amazing hand eye co-ordination skills to pour the water using both hands.

In Toddler 2 we have been making our own play dough, we really enjoyed mixing all the ingredients together and feeling the different textures. Following on from this we used textured rollers and stamps to create different marks and shapes, we then rolled them into balls so we could sing 5 currant buns😀

In Toddlers we have enjoyed celebrating someones birthday, so we decided to use the balloons to do some mark making. We took it in turns to roll the balloons through the paint to create different marks on the paper.

Recently in Toddlers we have been talking about routines at home and what we do before we come into nursery in the mornings. Some of our Toddlers were a little scared about brushing their teeth so we decided to do an activity based on this. We really enjoyed using real toothbrushes to clean the pens off our pretend teeth. We are really excited to do this by ourselves at home!😁

In Toddler 1 and 2 we have been interested in exploring the paints in the garden. We really enjoyed having free play with the paints and paper was placed in different areas on the garden where the Toddlers could choose where they wanted to paint. We really enjoyed looking at the traffic passing and trying to copy them😆

Today with Courtney Toddler 1 and 2 have been getting creative in the garden. Courtney hung some paper around our shelter with string and placed different coloured paints and paintbrushes on the table. Whilst the paper was swinging in the wind we had to use our amazing concentration skills to try and make marks on the paper whilst it was moving! The toddlers really enjoyed naming the colours and also mixing them together to make new ones😁😝

The pre & prep school children have recently enjoyed a visit to smithills farm, they have enjoyed feeding the different animals and also learning about each animal and having hands on experience in handling and touching the animals.
