We have a couple of spots left for our training course taking place on the 14th-16th of June. All levels of ability are welcome and encouraged.
It will be held at Raise Lodge, and hopefully the weather will be as great as it has been for the past couple of weeks!
Please contact us either here on FB, through e-mail or ring us if you're interested.

Rachel is looking for someone in need of work experience on a hill farm to help her out for a period of 3-4 weeks, starting from the 12th of May.
The work will involve marking lambs/moving ewes and lambs/feeding/dosing and general farm work as well as socialising puppies/training some dogs. She will be working alongside with you as a team.
Her farm is in a lovely setting in the Lake District, and there will be time to explore and have free time… She is not a slave driver!
... Because she is out away and in the hills, it would be best if anyone interested could drive but it is not totally essential.
Please send Rachel a message on FB, or ring her at 017684 86353.

Planning your sheepdog holidays?
Why not stay at Raise Lodge in Cumbria, just outside of the Lake District in the north of England?
We have three bedrooms in our self-catered farmhouse available throughout the summer, ideal accommodation for those of you traveling with your dogs to take part in the Open trial season or to watch the Nationals.
... There are two full bathrooms, a complete equipped kitchen with an Aga, and any other comfort you could need away from home!
Raise Lodge is a convenient base to attend trials in the north of England (and there are plenty), as well as trips out to north Wales or southern and central Scotland. We're also just 1h46m from the site of this year's English National!
There are kennels available for your dogs, and you will have use of our fields and Swaledale sheep for training.
Please get in touch with us on FB or via e-mail (info@killiebraesheepdogs.co.uk) if you are interested in a sheepdog holiday at Raise Lodge.

-- Kelpie is now sold! --
Killiebrae Kelpie 00/351382
Age: 12 months... Dam: Braehead Pixie 00/336197 - Killiebrae Briar X McGee's Sid Sire : Finn 00/323063
Health Testing: DNA normal by parentage. Both parents eye tested and sire is clear of IGS/TNS and has good hips.
Kelpie is a fantastic little bitch. She is a small size but more than makes up for that in personality and working ability. She has a lovely, kind nature and loves people and attention. She is very easy to have with you and takes everything in her stride.
Work-wise, she is a little pocket rocket, very keen, fast and stylish. She wants to please, but she is not for a beginner as she is on her toes all the time. She is currently working nicely, close at hand, and is just about on her sides/stop/walk on. She will be a great work bitch, but has all the potential to be a quality trialing bitch. If you are looking for a quality project to bring on, then this is the bitch for you.
I have her brother, and he is more my type of dog, he does not need as much input as Kelpie, and she is too good to be wasted, so I want a 5-star home for her where she will be part of the family as well as a working dog!
I don't have any videos at the moment, but plan to make some at the weekend!
-- Private message Rachel (Winter Crag Sheepdogs) for a price and any other info! --

Hello everyone, unfortunately we've had to cancel this weekend (14-15 April) training course as Derek has the flu. 😥 We apologise for the inconvenience caused and giving such short notice!
We may reschedule the course for sometime in May, at which point there will be a post about it on this page. Thank you! 🙏

SOLD
Killiebrae Glen 00/349411 DOB - 10 October 2016
... Glen 00/319014 x Killiebrae Briar 00/313371
Glen's sire is an Open trial dog who now lives in Norway; he was one of the dogs Derek ran in the 2016 English National. Briar has been a consistent producer, and is the dam to dogs that have done well at both the Nursery and Open trialling levels. Briar is a daughter of Killiebrae Laddie, 2008 English Nat'l. Champion, and Fleece, a member of the English team and International finalist several times over.
Glen is a smooth-coated tricolour dog with a lovely, smooth way about him when working on sheep. He walks straight into pressure, and does not slide off. This dog is ready to come on very quickly with further training, and has the basics in place for small outruns and driving. He should make a top-notch trial or work dog.
We are retaining his litter sister, and have decided to sell Glen due to no fault of his own, simply a lack of time. Price has been reduced for sale.

SOLD
Killiebrae Quail 00/352702 DOB - 12 June 2017
... Killiebrae Taff 00/313377 x Fellside Peg 00/324199
Quail is a black and white medium-coated, well-bred young bitch. She is a granddaughter of Killiebrae Laddie, D. Scrimgeour's Fleece and Mirk, dogs who were all competitive at the national and international levels. Her parents are both very competent and handy workers on farms.
She has a wonderful nature and is looking very promising on sheep. She will go around them on both sides, take them out of corners, is incredibly motivated to work, and is not afraid to walk into pressure. Lack of time is reason for sale.

Killiebrae Jinny 00/343057 (Finn 00/323063 x Killiebrae Pip 00/323138) DOB - 29 February 2016
Jinny is a rough coated, split-face bitch with tremendous room and scope on sheep. She has a natural cast, and tucks in the corners very effectively, on her own, when working a big flock. Jinny has a lovely, friendly nature, is very biddable, and is always raring to go to work.

We have a spot left for our 12-16th March training course at Raise Lodge (CA7 8LY). All levels are welcome. You will have 2 runs per day - AM and PM - and the opportunity to learn as a group as well as on your own.
A judging clinic will take place on the final day. There will be a mock trial, with each run being filmed and judged by participants. Afterwards, we will go over the run element by element, and discuss how we judged it.

Fellside Finn (Lot #20) will be for sale at Skipton dog sale on Friday the 23rd of February.
Viewings are welcome. Pedigree on request.
Dam: Malta Mist 00/324226 - DNA Clear for CEA... Sire: Finn 00/323063 -DNA clear for CEA/ IGS/TNS/Hip scored
Finn is a quality 18 month old dog, full of class, style, power and stamina. He is a smooth coated Tri colour dog with a strong build like his sire.
Finn has great outruns and hits the right spot every time, he always has a lovely distance on his flanks and when he walks into sheep, they move.
He has a smooth and stylish forward pace and is lovely to watch working. He responds well to commands and he has recently learned how to shed and look back. He is a confident dog and quickly builds a bond with a new handler.
Finn will make a great work dog and certainly has very god potential to be a successful trialling dog.
