Kilnsey Park Estate Description

Kilnsey Park Estate offers activities for all the family including fun fishing, friendly farm animals, pony trekking, an adventure playground and a nature trail with butterfly garden and rare orchids. We also offer high quality angling in two spring fed lakes for those wanting to catch a fish in this stunning location. Seasonal events and treasure trails mean that thereŌĆÖs always something going on.

The Kilnsey Estate caf├® is open every day for a full menu of local Dales dishes, light snacks and teas. You can also take home a taste of the Dales: the Kilnsey Estate shop has a selection of local produce including our award-winning smoked trout, pat├®s and pies.

We pride ourselves on being one of the countryŌĆÖs greenest visitor attractions. You can learn about how we generate our own electricity and heat our own buildings using nature. We welcome schools, groups and birthday parties.

All good things come to those who wait - and we can confirm that our rare and precious Lady's Slipper orchid is now coming into flower here at Kilnsey Park Estate. The blooms usually last a couple of weeks so catch them whilst you can - we have a guided walk this Sunday 26th May at 2.30pm but the nature reserve is open to the public 7 days a week from 10-4.

Thanks to everyone who made the 40th anniversary celebration of Kilnsey trekking centre such a success. Over the years the trekking centre has been a real bedrock of the local community, teaching countless local children how to look after ponies, organising the equestrian classes at Kilnsey Show, supporting the local hunt and of course introducing tens of thousands of children and adults to horse riding in the Yorkshire Dales. It's an institution and we look forward to seeing it continue to thrive for years to come!

Do you like your honey solid or runny? Without bees there would be none of the sweet stuff so we wouldn't even have the choice. Spare a thought for the little buzzing beauties and all they do for us on #worldbeeday #hivefiveforbees

TOUR DE YORKSHIRE UPDATE: We will be open as normal on TDY Sunday. The Tour organisers are advising road closures between 13.45 and 14.45 with a special sprint due to take place at Kilnsey around 14.15. If youŌĆÖre coming from the Skipton direction you just need to be aware that the road closures are predicted to be slightly earlier there, from 12.55 to 13.55 ŌĆō although thatŌĆÖs only the centre of Skipton, so the bypasses will be unaffected. To ensure a grandstand view of the action we recommend you get to Kilnsey by 1pm at the latest.
The best way to avoid any road closures is by checking the official website here: http://sites.yorkshire.com/tdy

We love this recent feature in the Yorkshire Post, showcasing some of the best views in Yorkshire - particularly given that the first view is one we get to enjoy every single day of the year!
