Hey Leicester, we've an announcement to make. For the next 3 months starting from Wednesday next week our kitchen will be taken over by Crafty; we will not be serving our usual offer during this period.
Crafty Chicks will offer delicious fried and robata grilled chicken, with lots of interesting sides, all lovingly prepared by our kitchen team. There's lovely vegetarian options on there too.

We visited for Mother’s Day, the Sunday dinner was delicious � , best Sunday dinner we have all had out for along time. The meat was locally sourced and melt in your mouth, plenty of vegetables and crispy roast potatoes, homemade giant Yorkshire puddings. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff we will definitely return!

We had our Christmas Doo here last night. What can we say?! Well, first of all, I managed to keep changing orders, numbers of diners etc right up until we ate. The staff could not have been more accommodating from the initial contact to the staff on the night. It may sound like an obvious trait for someone who works in the service trade to have, but I've been to plenty of restaurants whose staff are severely lacking in that very same trait. We booked the back room for the private party and it was perfect! The place feels very homely. Then came the food. The food! THE FOOD!!! Wow. Sublime. Mouth-wateringly, lip smackingly good. Each dish was well received and quickly consumed. The sign of great food is that when a room of 30ish people go quiet whilst they're savouring the food, you know it's pretty darn good. The service after we had eaten stayed on point and the staff put up with us for a while after the food had all gone. I can't recommend this place enough. Classy, affordable, homely, unpretentious and all with fantastic staff and incredible food. You simply HAVE to go 👍🏼

This was our third visit. We travel by bus from Sileby near Loughborough, we like to go out to eat once a week and are always on the lookout for somewhere new. I am pleased to say that this pub is becoming one of our favourites. The food is great and the staff are so welcoming and are never too busy to discuss menus and any concerns, ( of which we have none). Keep doing what you are doing because it's working. We tried the Grazing board this week and I have to says the different flavours and textures were right up my street. Well done all. See you soon.

There should be no other end of the week, like Sunday, rost dinner.

Colloquially, by chefs, we call ...sunday f....g roast dinner.

Short and to the point.

First dish - delicious.

Really tasty food, a great atmosphere and the staff couldn't do enough for us. To top it all off, they make an exceedingly good bramble cocktail.

Quality lunch of crab rosti followed by haddock and chips, lovely. No room for a third course� will be back to try the dinner menu soon.

My partner and I came here for our anniversary May 10th after seeing a facebook advert. Being of the 'older generation' we don't go into town much. However we thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place. The service, the atmosphere, the music, everything about it was really nice and relaxing- perfect ! The food was beautiful and my partner said it was the best steak he ever had ( and he's hard to please!) I was looking for a refreshing drink and was introduced to gin and elderflower. This is now my new fave ! The lady who served us was really lovely and friendly. We are definitely coming back ! Thank you very much for a lovely anniversary !

Had a lovely night out with friends last night. All intentions of a couple of drinks and moving on as they were fully booked. I was designated driver so was thrilled when the fab barman suggested a blackberry cordial and coke drink ( amazing) and later came to our table to say it had become free. By the end of the night we had demolished three courses of wonderfully cooked food and an array of alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks. No pressure to leave and a friendly atmosphere. The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable about their menu and chefs can't be praised enough. You have to visit we will again well done guys.

Great night...booked a table for 4 people and brilliant from start to finish...food was amazing but it’s the people that make a great place every time you had a question your server would beat you to it! Recommend the fish pie...

Gorgeous food and drink. Staff were amazing and the pub had a great atmosphere. I had a duck salad to start and steak for main. Both were cooked to perfection.

Enjoyed an absolutely scrummy dinner last night celebrating my friends 40th birthday. Gigs wrapped in bacon with Gorgonzola and walnuts to start...lush! And Turkey escalope with all the Christmas trimmings and endless bright green, fat Brussels sprouts cooked to perfection. I was suitable stuffed after 2courses, so we’ll have to go back another time to try out the desserts.

Black pudding and Ham Hock starter, terrific, great staff recommending his favourite (he suggested some vegetarian goats curd, but I won't hold that against him). Simple haddock and chips for main, fabulous - Judge a restaurant on getting the simple meals right, and this was perfect. Sticky toffee pudding to share at the end - spot on! Excellent wine, good beer, and a couple of famous Rugby stars to boot!

Beautiful pub, beautiful people, superb service! What's not to like!

A different menu to the one I tried on opening night, but just as delicious. The burrata is a well seasoned cream-splosion of textures and flavour and whatever meat you order will likely be cooked to perfection. The food and service was spot on. Great people and a fantastic place to eat.

We received a very warm welcome. We booked as a special pre-show deal so it was very reasonably priced. Food was good although my husband ordered a burger and the garlic mayo was a bit too strong for his taste. Thoroughly recommend this place! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff.
