Unbeknown to us , men are not allowed to wear VEST type T-Shirts,,, we had booked a table but when we arrived we thought we wouldnā€™t be allowed in as my husband had a vest on!!!

With much disappointment, I went to tell them to cancel our table,,,

To our surprise the lady (Andrea) found my husband a t-shirt to wear so we could enjoy our visit as planned,,, and we were NOT disappointed ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½

Fantastic food at a fantastic location ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½

Food great, and a varied menu so you can always have something different. Great service from cheerful staff, and a cabaret on the lake (water skiers falling off) when its sunny.

User

Delicious food with stunning views and amazing scenery particularly in the summer. And the service is delivered with perfection.

Just donā€™t tell too many people, as we like to get a seat to watch the water skiing.

After taling part in the watersports next door we decided to grab a bite to eat in the Kingfisher On The Quays. We were seated straight away despite it being a very sunny and busy day! We didn't fancy a big meal and were just looking for a lightish lunch. Our waitress suggested ordering a number of "light bites" from the menu and due to the offer being 4 for Ā£21.95 we decided to do just that. The waitress suggested it may not be enough for the four f us so we added some see orders too. The food came relatively quickly considering how busy it was. The food was delicious and was the perfect amount for the four of us. We paid he bull which we found very reasonable and left. In all the service was good, the food was excellent and th vibe in the restaurant was very cool and relaxed. I will most definitely be returning! :-P

The place was very busy when we arrived and we were told our food may be delayed a bit. As it turned out the food was brought to us in good time and it was nice and hot! We had the sharing platter first then Steak with triple cooked chips and various puddings to finish. The food was excellent as always and served by our waitress with a cheerful face and a smile! We always get good service here and would recommend it to all our friends.

Lovely ambience overlooking the lake. Clean and friendly helpful staff. Even had a vegan option! :) But can we please have more vegan options for the whole menu included dessert and dairy-free milk like oat, coconut... Then I would happily give you 5 stars!

User

Food was quite nice. The view and location gorgeous. We were seated outside really quickly. The attention to detail is impeccable. Every time I looked there was something else to see. Read some bad reviews but I cannot complain about our visit.

User

Waited 15 mins to order a round of drinks then waited 15 mins for them to come to the table and that was only after asking again where are the drinks so not great service:(

User

Quirky eclectic pub in a pleasant lakeside setting. Popped in for a quick drink only. People were queuing, waiting for a table, to eat I assumed. So we skipped the queue, entered the 'pub' and walked up to the bar to order a drink. While waiting to be served we were told it was table service only and we needed to be seated first. So we had no choice but to go back outside and join the food queue, even though we weren't eating. Once seated we waited for five minutes to be served. While there, we checked out the food menu. It was good to see something vegan on the menu, but the options were extremely limited and uninspiring. All in all, interesting looking place but not somewhere to pop in for a drink or to eat if you're vegan.

Have been loads of times to eat, always been good. My experience yesterday with friends however not so good. Table booked for 8pm, we asked if we could have a drink outside first as weather so lovely & move to table when ready. Waitress said yes no problem. Went in @ 9pm to claim our table, only to be told the kitchen closes @ 9pm & we shouldā€™ve only stayed outside for 15 mins!!! We explained that no one told us any of that info. Lady in charge looked at us very blankly & said they could probably do a main each for us, nothing else. Just couldnā€™t see how it was our problem when not one member of staff told us the limitations, fault on their side not ours. So be warned if you go on a summers evening....your only allowed 15 mins outside & kitchen shuts @ 9!!!!

Went for the first time, my brother had invited us to celebrate his wifes birthday. We arrived fairly early, on a wednesday evening, and sat out on the balcony taking in the beautiful lake view. We were all excited, this was going to be nice.

Ordered one of the main courses on the 'specials' menu, only to be told they were out of stock. Odd, as it was fairly early on a mid-week day. Ah well, that happens... we went ala carte instead. The WAGYU burger looked nice, so I ordered one, the others put in their orders and we sat enjoying our drinks and waited for the food to arrive.

...and wait we did. Almost an hour.

Not to worry, it was a birthday so we kept up the smiles, as I struggled to make my way through a bland and over cooked burger patty. Even after dowsing it in ketchup, I had to give up half way through. Ah never mind, I thought... we can stop by McDonalds on the way home. Keep smiling.

We ordered desserts and coffee. To be fair, the desserts arrived quickly, but without the coffee. By the time we had finished our desserts, and caught the attention of the staff to pay our bill, the coffees finally arrived. By that time, we politely declined, paid the bill and hurried home (with a BigMac in the bag).

Was seated on time unfortunately service was very slow waited for 30 minutes and only got served after complaining to manager then we got our meals instantly!!!ā€™ Would not revisit on a Sunday again !!!

Visited 30/05-18.Such a lovely looking place... a shame the food was sooooooo slow to be delivered. Had a burger that was so overcooked...was like a heavy rock in my stomach. The chips was nice. Not worth the price what so ever. A thick burger can NOT be that overcooked..it gets extremely dry, and impossible to digest and chew. Not impressed. Had Tiramisu. That was decent, but the coffee came half hour after dessert, even though ordered same time. Makes no sense, so we cancelled the coffee eventually. Will come back for a drink some day, as it was such a pretty building and decor, but will not eat again. If a place is going to attempt to cook and sell "gourmet" food, better do it right, or might as well serve pizza. I would most likely love to eat a pizza there..just not their poorly attempt on fancy food.

User

Really bad service was there for a friends birthday and told we had to be off the table by 8pm our food was served at all different times and the burger was burnt which we sent back but told by the chefs that it was fine! Terrible service we wonā€™t be going again we spent over Ā£200 and to be told we donā€™t need your business. it outrageous!!!!

User

Nowhere do they advertise a dress code yet my partner was turned away for having his sleeves cut off his T shirt yet I and every other woman in there was wearing vests....horrendous sexist policy they said their restaurant has a dress code yet nowhere on their website has a dress code advertised for the ā€˜pubā€™ this has caused us lots of stress and travel for no reason when every woman in there was wearing half the clothes he was

User

Met for a birthday, by the lake, thought nice chilled evening. It seems the management approach is rigid with rules all customers are expected to abide by.

We booked what was described as an in/out table for 13 in a 'pub restaurant' advertised as 'dog friendly'. Upon arrival we were told the dog cannot be on the in /out table and needed to sit outside, where we were placed for 6 and kids on the pre booked table - away from where we were sitting.

We were served by multiple people, the food was late, in frequent and sent back due to quality. The manager told us we couldn't just sit where we liked (er we hadn't, your team sat us here) one of our group had a quiet word with her re her rudeness and asked her not to spoil a birthday meal, to which she said 'frankly I don't need your business'.

There is a big training issue here, and maybe the format is entirely wrong for the location, it's a fast food experience masquerading as a full service restaurant. The manager really let the rest of the enthusiastic team down.

User

I was refused entry today on the grounds of dress code. I was told that no vests were allowed, yet every female in the bar was wearing a strap top dress or vest top.

I was wearing a white T-shirt that I've cut the sleeves off... mainly because it's 30Ā° today.

Is this not the most sexist dress policy going?

my girlfriends tits were hanging out wearing short cut jean shorts with her ass hanging out

what would your staff say if I told them I identify myself as a woman? would they allow me to come in? or would they ask every woman wearing a vest to leave?

Your staff told me that as a restaurant they can specify a clothing policy but your website refers to this establishment as a PUB and there is no clear sign of a dress code.

Personally I want an apology, a free meal and beer in your garden while I wear what ever the hell I like because my money is just as good as anyone else's.

Haven't been to Kingfisher on The Quay for a long time, because service was always so slow and disorganised (and now won't bother again). I visited there with my wife and sister-in-law, who was visiting from London, to have some lunch on a very hot day. We were turned away because I wore a sleeveless t-shirt, although there was a sign which warned 'No vest tops'. Do they turn all the ladies away for wearing strappy tops - I DON'T THINK SO!

I guess they can afford to turn customers away, but I hope they go bust like all their predecessors, for their astounding attitude to customer care. It's hardly as if they are a fine dining restaurant, but rather an over-priced, pretentious diner with a view.
