Dries, Dries, Dries!! If you love dry fly fishing or ever wanted to try it, now is the time. An angler yesterday told me some of the best dry fly fishing he’s had is on this lake. I’m also ordering a variety of dry files which are working well at the moment, they should be in stock tomorrow. N.B. The photo is not taken at Kingfisher, but it is an excellent shot.
A beautiful brown caught last month estimated weight just under 5lb. The photos aren’t great but the fish welfare and adhering to our C&R policy was our first priority, ensuring it was returned safely for another angler. #browntrout #caughtandreleased #flyfishing
Not just fishing! Bromyard Fire Station training for water rescue.
Fishery Report It might be the end of June, but the lake is fishing well, with good water temperatures and excellent hatches. The fish are being predominantly caught in the top of the water, on dries and subsurface.
Fishery Report Now we are into June with long bright days and the fish are feeding well earlier in the day, going quieter through the middle of the day and picking up into the evening. The weather has made the fish unsettled, but hopefully the rest of the month will be more seasonal. Bloodworms have been catching well at 12ft, Black buzzers with red or green cheeks at depths of up to 4ft and also blobs have been successful.
Fishery Report
Fish are showing well and feeding on dries, like sedge and hawthorns, but also taking buzzers lower down. Fish are quieter late morning/early afternoon and becoming more active in late afternoon/evening.
