“The job runs from the sublime to the ridiculous,” says Seabridge. “It can be chasing geese off the front lawn or fishing students out of the river at 5am.”
A wonderful article from the Cambridge Alumni Magazine (CAM) on the intricacies of working as College porters, featuring our Head Porter Neil Seabridge. https://www.cam.ac.uk/thelostkey

We are so lucky as a country to have the British history & heritage that we have, that appeals to students, tourists etc all over the world - and Cambridge is no exception. King's College: what a building & a location. Extraordinarily beautiful.

User

The most beautiful architectural buildings where the history is almost tangible. The sense of immense size was obvious within the glorious chapel, as was taking a few moments to savour a clear sense of peace and thought provoking reflection. And dont forget option to travel by punt. Loved it!

User

The atmosphere in Cambridge is peaceful and quiet, reminds me of my University years. The Chapel is gothic at its best, beautiful and impressive. I went 30 min before it closed and I was lucky enough to be the only tourist in there. Gorgeous.

User

Studied mathematics there and got a 1:1 with distinction. I was the brainiest person there by far.

User

One of the most beautiful places in the UK. The chapel was out of this world and staff in the College were polite, friendly and very accommodating. I had one of the most amazing times of my life staying there.

User

Most amazing place full of history and breathtaking architecture!!

User

Lovely place to visit, the chapel is stunning

User

Kings College is a most beautiful place - the Chapel is out of this world and my favourite building in the whole of Cambridge. Together with the world-famous choir, it is a stunning place to visit and experience.

User

It's a must visit place,if you are visiting UK, wonderful colleges with beautiful history behind them.

User

I have only been here once before many years ago. I'm glad I made the effort to go up to Cambridge from London by train. A truly beautiful chapel, a fabulous ceiling & the stain glass is amazing. Worth the £9.00

User

I could only visit the Chapel, once that the even preparations were going on, but so worth it! Magestic is the word! However it would be wiser to have some security inside the Chapel, because I saw some tourists completely abusing the interdict places of the Chapel... completely disrespectful on a sacred place, I would say. But I totally recommend and for sure will always visit this place every time I'll visit Cambridge <3

User

Had a private dinner with friends in the Saltmarsh rooms on Saturday evening. Lovely meal with the most friendly and efficient service - huge thank you to your wonderful staff.
