Throwback to another event that brought crowds to King's recently: the Wimbledon BookFest Spring Weekend which took place earlier this month. This was the first event of its kind, hosted at King's and at Southside House. Audiences soaked up talks by an array of speakers from OKs Chris Van Tulleken and Mark Urban, to transparency campaigner Gina Miller, historian Lucy Worsley and poet Roger McGough and many more besides. We were delighted by the interest in the event and welcomed 3,000 visitors to the school over the three days!

In the last few weeks, King's has hosted a very large number of visitors. Kicking off this week's spotlight on recent events at King's is Friday's gala performance of When Love Speaks, an evening of Shakespeare's poetry and music presented by RSC director Christopher Luscombe (OK and King's Fellow). Pupils performed with the support of RSC actors Leah Whitaker and Nicholas Bishop and we were delighted to welcome Hugh Bonneville who introduced the show. The performance was given to a packed Concert hall audience of over 200 people.

Offering an inspiring example of leadership, Joseph shows principle, discipline and wisdom - qualities which are evident around King's every day. On the final night of the Junior School production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, we congratulate the boys and staff involved on all their hard work on this fantastic show!

Last week was National Science Week and pupils across the school were engaged in a programme of events to inspire and intrigue. From a teacher vs sixth form Bush Tucker trial, to talks from leading scientists and a trip to the Natural History Museum, there was something for every aspiring scientist.

Demonstrating their commitment to one of our key values at King's, last weekend pupils and tutors from Major House took part in a house-wide charity walk. Striding out in gusty winds, they completed two laps of Wimbledon Common, raising over £3,000 for their house charity, Shooting Star Chase.
