i travelled from edinburgh for this excellent night i had a great time meeting people from all over the u k. the kings hall held fond memories for me ever since Chris Burton ran nights here prior to opening the torch this was my first all nighter in 45 years.and even though i walk on two sticks I couldnt have enjoyed it more, Id like to thank the doormen and all the other polite considerate people who helped me as i tried to negotiate the hall ..To the lady in the food queue in the skinners I appologise for the poor night she endured in shotts. and to the guy from Sheffield keep on keeping on.I will be back in July and hope to see you again thanks. The Soul Music was as always fantastic and so were the Soulies

User

Went to a Christmas party here 1st of December, jubilee hall was beautiful, food was fab, bar well stocked and the DJ was brilliant! Would definitely recommend and many thanks to Nikki who organised everything for us!

User

Obviously and without doubt the closest thing arcitecturally to Wigan Casino, dance floor 9 out of 10.......10 reserved only for the Blackpool Tower which trumps any dance floor in the world. I love the place and the music and will continue to go a couple of times a year but if had to be critical I'd say a tad guilty of going over the top early on with overplayed top 500 spins and then later on into total obscurity with dj's competing to see who can play the rarest underplayed records. Personally....somewhere in between the two later on would suit me better.

User

I loved the motown and soul night at the kings hall stoke had a brilliant night the dj,s was excellent I can't fault anything about it would definitely recommend it , we travel from Birmingham to it , as we don't have anything like it here to go to !

User

Fantastic venue. Just a shame about the toilets!!

User

Came here for the prosecco festival . Had a fantastic time . Great atmosphere with great friends.

User

Been a few times for several events & absolutely love it! X

User

Went the gin jamboree 11th Nov afternoon session. The gins were gr8 and the atmosphere was gud but the Hall was rather cold we had to move and sit next to a radiator that was just aired

User

Really enjoyed the Signal soul night on Saturday except the tickets said it started at 9 so by the time we got there there weren't any seats left. As hubby can't stand for too long due to health problems we had to go up to the balcony seats. Then there was the problem of him having to go up and down the stairs for the toilets. It didn't spoil the night for us but could have been better if the actual facilities were better. Would still go again but will get there earlier to get a seat.

User

Attended the Gin Jamboree on 10th Nov, room was quite cold due to entrance doors left wide open, gins were good, good atmosphere, not sure about the choice of music though, very repetitive and loud!

User

We went for miss staffordshire 2017. The event was excellent and our Elysha was placed top 5. However the champagne reception was not champagne. And an additional £10 for 1 glass of sparkling wine was over priced. The food was terrible. We were on table 25 close to the bar and last to be served. The event started and our main meals hadn't even arrived. We had the vegetarian option.. disgraceful a tiny pastry case filled with fried onion and goats cheese on the top.. freezing cold. Raw courgette in chunks sliced cooked carrots cold and warm tomato sauce. With the weirdest new potatoe crush thing. Also tepid. No check backs food dropped and run.. you could see why. The event excellent food shockingly embarrassing £45 a ticket, £30 over just a balcony seat couldn't see how the meal was worth £10 for sparkling wine reception and £20 for the meal. Live and learn.

User

The beer was flat than a kippers dick to be honest. Too many queues for a large venue. More places to get served and better quality of drink like checking the gas on the bottles and cooler beer. The food was excellent but people go to these venues for beer.

User

Super evening at the music awards Saturday night. Very well organized good service. The only critisium was it was very cold in the room most of the night we had to keep our coats on.

User

I've read some of the reviews and some say the drinks were reasonably priced.. £2.50 for a bottle of water 500ml. That's a fecking piss take. 12 bottles water (tesco) £1.90. ain't ever gonna buy a drink at the bar again.!

User

We went for the gin jamboree on 10th November, the gins were lovely but the hall was really cold and at the end of the night the staff/management were very rude and abrupt asking us to leave when we still had full drinks and one member of our party was still being served! Not impressed.

User

Good night overall for the Lord Mayors ball who I must admit gave a good speech as I am not one for standing to clap someone who really isn't any different to myself and what have they done to merit the acclaim. However the food was awful, the veg was as hard as footballs knowing sport was the theme maybe it was intentional! Queuing for the bar not great either. However our company was great.

User

Went to the Signal Soul night last Saturday - too many people in the room, couldn't get on the dance floor without bumping into drunken people sloshing drinks all over the place - more like paddling than dancing ! They might have sorted out getting a drink in a more organised way but it's what happened afterwards was the problem. We've always gone to this event but probably won't go again - shame.

User

The venue is brill unfortunately the gin jamboree was not!

We paid £15 each to get in and the drinks were £5 a go.

You could have half measures but the bar staff killed the drink with the mixers. Just felt ripped off every time I went to the bar. Will not be going next year and not recommending it to my friends.

User

The hall was freezing! Had to sit with my coat on. Other members in my party had no coat and we had to leave early because they were so cold! The bar service was atrocious with lengthy queues and they had no coke on all night - how can you run out from 19.20 onwards?? This is the second event I've been to at the Kings Hall and it will be my last. How hard is it to get simple stuff right?! Appalling.
