Love this place, never fails only negative i would say is they stop serving food too early 3pm on a saturday

Went in on a Saturday lunch time with my partner and asked for a flat white and a pint to which I got back 'we're not Costas you know', even though they sold 'flardy' coffees as they said! Whilst waiting for my coffee to be made and a pint pulled, we were subject to a conversation between the two members of staff who were basically laughing at us asking for a flat white, using terrible language and making us feel ridiculed. They then went on to say what's wrong with a kettle and a spoon of nescafe! I've lived in Carlisle all my life and have been into Kings Head since I was a teenager but I thought the staff behaviour was unacceptable. To say I won't be going there again!

No fancy gimmicks, just everything you want & need in a proper pub, done right & done well.

A well stocked bar, with plenty of real ales on tap.
All the classic pub grub favourites on the menu, cooked just how they should be. Served by helpful & friendly staff.

Such a great local pub, wonderful atmosphere, great crowd and the landlord is a wonderful character. The pub had a huge beer garden in which there are BBQ nights and band nights. The juke box is amazing! The landlord is keen on his music. Great range of guest beers alongside the normal favourites.

Really well priced drink and food.

Decent selection of beer. My group had some decent food, but my steak was overdone and a bit tasteless.

In a city renowned for it's friendliness the landlord is a beacon of surliness; pity, some of his staff are great.
