We camped here for 4 nights our family stayed the night before and dispute booking 2 pitches together my mum had difficulty with the staff the morning of our arrival being told we could not have a set pitch saved for us dispute the fact both pitches were already payed for she found the staff rude and unhelpful. On our arrival one of the staff came out to show us where to pitch the tent ( to adhere to fire regulations) I initaly thought this was a nice touch but it quickly became frustrating as where he wanted us to camp would have had us sleeping on an angle on the one uneven bit of grass. When I explained that to him he accused me of being a fair weather camper. As a life long camper I was actually quite offended though I think he may have mentioned it as a joke? The facilities were clean and we'll maintained and close to the water park and canal. Perfect for dog walking and cycling. Though the lack of bins onsite was bizarre with no recycling facilities we could find.

Unable to leave review on C & CC site. This is the least dog friendly site we've ever stayed in, while allowing dogs there are signs at every turn stating no dogs (even by the chemical loo cupboard - why would I take my dog in there?!). Having just come from several non C& CC sites in the lake district this was really noticeable. I do not want to take my dog into inappropriate places on a site but equally I don't expect to be told to leave the campsite grounds to walk him anytime he needs a quick wee and signs can be worded in a more friendly way.
The staff are quite cold and officious. The sign put up while they are cleaning the loo block is incorrect and led me to a merry dance round the site trying to find a toilet!
Staff did not know anything at all about the next door water park or facilities. Don't go expecting to get on a lake with your own kayak paddleboard etc - you are not allowed by the water park and no swimming either. Some nice level walks around the park though. Nearby pub in nice location by canal and near to site but beware food all day actually means until 7.30pm only and food is very basic pub grub - although staff friendly and dogs welcome.

I laughed at some of the previous reviewers moaning about walking to the bins on the site - but they are right, all rubbish bins removed and only a skip near the far entrance. It really does look like laziness on the part of the staff, at least a few of the facility areas could have a bin in them!!

I definitely won't be coming back here, and think the club needs to check out what is going on as it could put people off the club altogether. Am not a moaner generally and have just left a couple of great reviews for other campsites stayed at during this holiday.

We have been here for two years running now. The first year I put the rudeness of the staff down to an isolated incident, however, there was a noticeable escalation of staff rudeness this year. Full of self importance, patronisation and even aggression displayed at times. A most peculiar bunch indeed! This is not a place for families with children. I would suggest camper vans and older people are shown more courtesy. No ball games, no open fires.. I think Umberslade is more suited to our family needs. A real shame but we won't be camping here again.

Looking at the reviews I believe I must of encounterd a separate team of staff to everyone else at this park. I travelled to Kingsbury caravannig park yesterday afternoon to visit my family and on arrival I was told I have to park in a separate car park which was only a 5 minute walk down the road but in the pooring rain I did not fancy it as well at the £3 charge... unfortunately I did not have any cash on me at the time. I was amazed at the unhelpful attitude of the staff especially a certain individual named Stuart. Who later on shouted as my dad let us past the gate (once I had tracked them down as the staff would also not allow me to know their location in the park, I even offered to show ID) Stuart called my dad a liar to his face and continued to be with a power crazed and extremely rude attitude. Other than the peculiar staff the site it's self is nicely located and full of family facilities. It's just a shame the people who represent the club show no signs of being welcoming and helpful.

Lovely people. Scenic environment. Good for short cycle trips in water park and along the canal. Good for bird watching.

A tale of two halves. The weekdays we stayed were great; lovely location, quiet site, friendly helpful staff and other campers. Only flaw if the on-site Wi-Fi is so slow it is unusable. Four stars.
The weekend was horrendous. The site was over crowded, people were allowed to pitch or site almost at random. There were plenty of places where two or three tents were pitched almost on top of each other and some having up to four cars parked around them. The noise went on very late. Spoke to other campers who had been here for weekend before and they said it was the same then. Not what a club site should be at all. Zero stars.
So an average of two.
