Shingles can be a serious infection and can be extremely debilitating and painful. Older people are particularly at risk, but people aged 70-75 or 78-79 can receive the shingles vaccine. Do you know someone who might be eligible? Tag them below to let them know they can be protected. More information can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/condi…/vaccinations/ shingles-vaccination/

If you're asthmatic, you may have noticed you need to use your inhaler more frequently during the winter months, make sure to book your asthma reviews as there may be a more effective inhaler you could be prescribed. Poorly controlled asthma can be life-threatening.

From this morning, Swindon's GP out-of-hours service will transfer to new provider Medvivo. The way patients access the service will stay the same, but if you want more information on Medvivo, which already runs similar services in Bath, visit our website.

New data from NHS Digital shows there’s been a fall in the proportion of 50 to 70-year-old women taking up invites for breast cancer screening.
When you are invited to attend a screening, it's important you attend. When breast cancer is found early, it's easier to treat and will likely be small enough not to have spread outside of the breast to other parts of the body. Read more on our page.

It's Cervical Cancer Awareness Week. Cervical screening has helped to reduce the number of cervical cancer cases significantly. This video explains what to expect.

Male is from the Frome area but was detained in the Devizes area of Wiltshire. 36.0 grams Brown powder Indications of CYCLO-PROPYL-FENTANYL1 DIAMORPHINE (less than 5 per cent) Caffeine Paracetamol”

User

I haven't been with Kingswood surgery long but best surgery ive ever been registered with, the doctors, nurses & girls on reception all brilliant.

User

I cannot give enough praise to this surgery! I have been with them since a child and have had many health issues and unfortunately I am a frequent patient!! However I am never made to feel like a nuisance and the care and treatment is second to none! The reception staff go out of the way to help and have often far exceeded my expectations! The nurses are amazing, highly skilled and very caring. The GPs do a fantastic job and have always tried to help. I feel blessed to be with this surgery especially when I hear the horror stories from other peoples doctors

User

Dr Slater is the best doctor in Swindon by far such a lovely man and makes you at ease, I was booked in for the wrong thing when I should have been booked in with Dr Slater and a nurse but he was still more than happy to continue with my appointment I was supposed to be booked in for I was so nervous and Dr Slater and the nurse were so calming and lovely! Thank you and that is a why I don't want to move surgeries even though I have one at the end of my road!

User

Brilliant nurses and reception staff with a few super docs. Any problems are dealt with quickly.

User

A patient here for 29 years, the care we have recieved as a family is second to none. The practice has grown over this time with new premises and additional services, named gp for all patients and i for one am so grateful for what i class as first class personal individual care.

User

It's been my surgery all my life! Even when it was next door in the wooden hut.

I'm under no illusion that these are challenging times in the NHS but the staff, doctors and nurses do a fantastic job and I for one am very grateful. Keep up the good work.

User

Sometimes reception staff can be unfriendly and quite short. Difficult to get an appointment with regular GP or on the day appointment. If you have more than one problem Drs often disinterested or unhelpful at times and don't like prescribing pain relief.
