Lovely location, good walks all around. Solar showers were smashing. Just needs a little TLC in certain areas to make it perfect.

Great camp site, very basic and all the vetter for it.

Nice open campsite in a good location. Basic solar shower facilities although the hot water ran out pretty quickly even on a hot summer's day.

James was a fabulous host, giving us a couple of pitch options.
We found a lovely sheltered spot for us and our friends. James gives everyone lots of space between pitches, so it really feels like it is just you and your party in the field.
The shower toilet facilities are good, with warm showers everyday of the weekend during our stay.
only a 10-15 min walk to a great pub, 5-10 min drive to the Bluebell Railway and Sheffield Park.
All in all a great location, really reasonable price and a fabulous host.

Thanks James.

James was really nice, he showed us a couple of spots he thought we might like to pitch. Lots of space between groups. Showers hot, toilets clean.

WE LOVED IT! A back to basics campsite in such beautiful surroundings.Upon arrival we called James who came & greeted us & offered us the choice of camping in woodland or open space,(we jumped at woodland.) James then showed us to our pitch,it was just perfect. Our 3 children could roam free & play amongst the Bluebells, the trees & rope swings! This was honestly our most relaxed camping trip. We had a HOT showers, I can't tell you how much I appreciated those! Large industrial basins for washing up. We saw James 2/3 more times over the weekend, so we could top up with firewood. We took a short walk from the campsite to the local pub, 'The Sloop,' where we had lunch,( the food quite pricey for kids!) The walk through the woodland to the pub is just beautiful. Our children absolutely loved there time here,so much so,asking if they could live here! The only downside is that you have to take your rubbish home with you so storing rubbish in the car for the weekend. This is only a small issue & it's understandable to ask of guests. We will definitely be returning to Kitts camp.

We have been here every year for the past five years. The site is small and intimate where I feel happy letting my kids run free.
There is a small but well kept bathroom facility and a quiet respectful atmosphere, with families gathering around fires.
James is a great host and is always a pleasure seeing him greeting and looking after his guests each morning and evening.
To be aware of when booking: this site doesn't have electricity or bins, so you need to be self sufficient.

Love this campsite! If you want a kids playpark , a cafe, a shop and electricity, best don't come here. But if you like spending time in nature in a beautiful site, without other people heaped on top of you, with pleasant solar powered loos and showers, this is the place. If you don't want to buy firewood here, i guess you could bring your own for jacket potatoes and marshmallow toasting. A1!

Kitts was a great campsite when it came to location and space but we will definitely not be returning there.

When reading that it was ''back to basics with a modern twist'', I didnt quite expect what we got, James didn't show up to show us to our space but he had helpfully written it on the map for when we showed up, we were greeted with two bags of wood on arrival for our camp fire.

Our air mattress required an electric pump to inflate and when our car charger overheated we walked to toilet expecting to be able to plug our bed in to inflate it, unfortunately we soon found out that there was no electricity(being advised of this would have been helpful) on the campsite at all and James's advice via the phone was for us to drive to the nearest pub to see if they could help us, and so we did.

Upon meeting James the following day he advised me that we owed £24 on top of our bill for the 2 bags of wood he had left for us on arrival and the 2 bags that he had dropped to our fire for burning tonight. At no stage had he told us the expense of the bags of wood, in my opinion £6 for a small bag of logs is a little bit expensive. I agreed to pay for one bag and told him to take away the bags for tonight as we would not use them if we had to pay that price for them. I was shocked to say the least but more shocked by the site owners rudeness towards me as a customer.

As for the rubbish situation, it's a nuisance but understandable that everyone takes there our rubbish. But the lack of sanitary bins in the female toilets is just ridiculous.

We won't be returning to this campsite for the reasons above.

I like this place because we have a nice time there every year. However it could do with showers that don't stop every time someone uses the toilet, the toilet block could be cleaned more often, and I'd really like it if they took care of the rubbish. It is beautiful and laid back and not too crammed with tents, and the kids love the woods, so it has plenty going for it.
