10 years ago, I decided to go back to college and study Beauty Therapy. I was the oldest person in the class and by far the most uncool and geekiest girl there, but from the very beginning, I loved it! It was so motivating and inspiring to discover that you can make people so happy through beauty treatments. Being a geeky girl studying Beauty Therapy, I soon realised I needed to enhance what I had been blessed with… we will get to the not so blessed features soon! Armed with straighteners and eyeliner I primped and preened myself till I was smiling from ear to ear. But the job was not yet complete…The next task was my unruly sideburns! The hair on my face felt like the worst thing in the world, it seemed so unnatural and manly. My unhappiness stemmed from people pointing them out, this really added to the insecurities I already had. I had tried bleaching them, hiding them, exposing them but they were still there and refused to be tamed. I had become super conscious of them.
