Knebworth & Marymead Medical Practice

Tried to get an urgent appointment for my Son was cut off by both surgeries. Marymead put me on hold then cut me off. Never bothered answering again after that. Let's hope the rash he is covered in is nothing serious!!! Disgusting customer service.

I had to visit the surgery to pick up a death certificate.
I was informed that the certificate would be ready from 11.00 am on. I checked the surgery's website which stated that the surgery was open 08.00 to 18.30 on that day.
As I had an appointment booked at 15.30 to register the death I stopped by at 14.00 (after driving for 30 minutes to get there), to find a note on the door saying the surgery was closed for staff training. I called the sugery phone number only to get a recorded message saying the surgery was closed from 13.00 for staff training.
Why this information was not noted on the website or indeed mentioned in the recorded message when I called that morning is a mystery. The receptionist I spoke to also neglected to mention it.
I was unable to make the appointment to register the death as I did not have the death certificate.
While desperately trying to phone to rearrange the appointment at the Registrar's office the next day several people arrived to visit the surgery, also to find themselves "unlucky".
Information must be made available in advance to the public.
A note stuck on the door is totally unacceptable!
Perhaps this could form part of the staff training and thus avoid people travelling unnecessarily and, in my personal case, at a very stressful time.
