We can now announce the venue of the Knitted Leeds display at the Heritage Open Days. It's the Corn Exchange! Knitted Leeds will be there on Saturday 21st Sept and Sunday 22nd Sept. We'll have some volunteers in attendance who'll be encouraging members of the public to do some knitting. So please pop along and join the fun!

Anybody fancy knitting this logo of Leeds Civic Trust? They've asked us if a knitted version of it can be on show as part of the Knitted Leeds display at the Heritage Open Days in Sept. The trust have kindly funded our involvement, which includes money to buy a large hanging rail. The rail will also be used for future displays of Knitted Leeds. Please let me know if you're interested in knitting the logo. Thanks, Nick

Very many thanks to John, Mel and everyone at Leeds Civic Trust who have awarded us a small grant so Knitted Leeds can be part of the Heritage Open Days in September. This allows us to buy a large and sturdy clothes rail on which to hang Knitted Leeds at future events. The grant also lets us to buy some wool so members of the public can have a go at knitting and make the event more interactive. The venue will be announced soon - but here's a quick clue: it's an iconic building that appears on Knitted Leeds!

Knitted Leeds was a big hit at Leeds Wool Festival on Saturday! There was a constant flow of people into the gallery space that was dedicated to our exhibition. Many thanks to the volunteers who came to explain and demonstrate: Dawn, Helen, Ann, Marina and Charlotte. And many thanks to Chris and Lesley of the museum for all their help in setting up the exhibition. Its a shame it was only for 1 day!

A quick reminder that Knitted Leeds will be at Armley Mills this Saturday (1st June) as part of Leeds Wool Festival. Thanks to the volunteers who said they can come and help run the exhibit.. and do some Knit and Nattering as well! Anyone else who wants to help, please let me know.

We're happy to say that Knitted Leeds will be staying on at Fabrication until the end of May. It's been a great success there and we hope a lot more people can enjoy seeing it. If you've not been yet, Fabrication is on Albion Street (close to Waterstones and Boots).

We met with 2 lovely people (Lesley and Chris) at Armley Mills museum today about having Knitted Leeds on display at Leeds Wool Festival. We jointly decided on a great location in a dedicated exhibition area with plenty of room for our volunteers to talk to visitors and for a Knit and Natter area as well. The date is Saturday 1st June. It would be great to have as many volunteers there as possible. Please let me know if you're interested. They're expecting 2,000 visitors so it could be a busy day!

More exciting news! Leeds Civic Trust have been in contact and are keen for Knitted Leeds to be on display as part the Heritage Open Days in September. It's too early to say where it'll be on show but it's a great opportunity to have it seen by thousands of people.

Knitted Leeds is now on display at Fabrication on Albion Street in Leeds! Here's a photo from Charlotte who kindly helped to arrange the exhibit there. The photo is a little wonky, but the Knitted Leeds hanging is perfectly level! If you're interested, there'll be some woolcraft workshops taking place in the same space. Details of these are here: https://www.fabric-ation.co.uk/productŌĆ” /craft-classes-leeds/

Two of our wonderful volunteers, Kelly and Janis, were interviewed live on Radio Leeds last Saturday morning. Here's a recording of the interview, accompanied by some photos that capture something of the story of Knitted Leeds.

Great news! This Saturday (20th April), Knitted Leeds will be going on public display at Fabrication in Leeds city centre. Fabrication is a craft shop and workspace that supported the project by providing a workspace area for some of the knitting sessions. It'll be at Fabrication for 3 weeks (until 12th May). The address is 79 Albion Street, LS1 5AP. Please go and see it there.

A great day for Knitted Leeds! It was unveiled by the Lord Mayor who really loved it. He says he'd like to have it up on display in one of their buildings. After the unveiling, hundreds of visitors to the Spring Into Wool show showed great interest and very many gave fantastic feedback. The regional WI would like a talk on it and there may be plans to take it into primary schools. Well done to all!
