Great bar quiet but very friendly, good banter and most people willing to crack you at pool.

Under new ownership. Now dreadful. Avoid at all costs. Mislaid booking even after having rang them twice and given credit card etc. Showed no interest in helping to resolve the situation. Will not darken their doorstep again.

Very very poor. Arrived at 2 for check in. Not a soul around . After waiting 5 minutes my husband went yo get someone. We checked in but no card machine. Used s mobile for check in. He said he would email us reciept. We went to our room. Room 10 no windows. We asked for scenic room whem booking. we then went to receprion at 5.30 . Not a soul in sight again. We went out for the night for food and drinks. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Later at 8pm the bar man tried to ripoff an old couple with g and t measures. They left. Went to bed barricaded the door of our room as the lock was faulty. Could not sleep watching the door next day went for breakfast and had to serve our selves with juice coffee and boil kettle and then use toaster for toast. No Cooked breakfast at all..lady on her phone took key never spoke and we left. This couple have only taken over hotel in the last three weeks. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Very kind and warm staff, really nice peaceful place to stay. Perfect for everyone who would like to get some rest from busy and chaotic life style.
Will definitely come back.

Seen better days!
Room was clean but cold & there was no hot water. The corridors in the extension at the rear smelled damp.
Food was OK but beer was terrible!

User

No hot water, wet walls, dirty, a lots of spiders and no light on the corridor. Worst accomidation on our 5 weeks enland trip.

Stayed here with my wife on our way to Scotland. We had a wonderful time. We have been in the UK for 10 days already and this was by far the highlight of our trip so far. The owners were on point as was the staff for breakfast. We meet some locals from Seaham and had a great time. Bar and Lounge area has a dart board and pool table. If you are passing thru this area you should stay.

It wasn't expensive, the food was lovely, the staff friendly and the beds clean and comfy as were the rooms and lounge with its coal fire. It was also a great location to get to where we needed to be which was Otterburn. Made budgeting affordable for the drive from and back to North Lincolnshire. The views were wonderful as it's out in the middle of nowhere.
