This restaurant looks unremarkable from the outside, but is very well appointed inside and the service is simply perfect. The food was so tasty and much more genuine in flavour than most. Perhaps a little spicier, but this was taste spice, not just pure heat. Very very impressed. Will be going back (regularly).

I have eaten here many times and in my opinion (and that of our friends) is that the food is noticeably better than any other in Southampton. The place is rather small though which means you have to book early. Also it can be a little noisy at times.

The food is close to authentic South Indian cuisine. Good flavours and presentation of the dishes. The portions were spot on. It was fully booked on a Saturday afternoon! The chicken 65 and chicken pakodas were delicious. I will be bringing more friends here in the near future.

A fantastic meal

Competition time!! Post a photo of you and your party enjoying your meal with a comment before 4July. The best 2 will receive a bottle of bubbly to have with a meal between the 14th and 31st July. Well all I can say is I wouldn't go anywhere else. What a fantastic meal . such friendly staff and manager made to feel very welcome. Thankyou so much had a lovely meal. My lamb was melt in the mouth. Will see you all again.

We have recently visited for the second time and cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food was amazing and the service so friendly, we will definitely be back next time we are in Southampton.

This is a great restaurant. The food is wonderful and the staff are friendly and helpful. I have eaten at the Kohinoor many times over many years and have never been disappointed. This is certainly my favourite restaurant in Southampton. Obviously many other people agree, consequently booking is recommended.

The food was so delicious, and caters for vegans, vegetarians, omnivores alike.



The staff were lovely and so kind and helpful; they really wanted to help us have a nice evening.



The mixed plate of starters was AMAZING! New & wonderful tastes for me.



Although it is a small restaurant, please don't worry about the atmosphere being awkward, as the staff are helpful and kind, pleasant and considerate, and they aren't forcing any politeness, they just seem to be genuinely nice people :)
