we went a few weeks ago, food is amazing I tried the sea food curry, best sea food curry I've tried

Went to the Koinonia for the first time last night. Lovely food and nice to try to something different. Really enjoyable and hope to go again soon. Can recommend it.

User

We come here quite often for lunch and are never disappointed. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious. I must particularly recommend the executive lunch. Excellent value for money and it's always a lovely surprise as you never quite know what your getting except for the meat you chose but it's always mouth watering.

We came here with our friends for the first time tonight and have to say we were very impressed with everything. The food was beautifully cooked and extremely tasty and the staff were very attentive and welcoming, even down to the little details. During my main meal I dropped my fork and before I even had chance to turn round and ask for another I was very pleasantly handed a new one by the server. It's as if he must have known I was going to do it and was prepared - we would definately come back again and I have no hesitation recommending this place. Thank you to all at Koinonia for an enjoyable evening.

We booked this at the last minute and despite being VERY busy they managed to squeeze us in, the menu was a lot different to the normal korma-madras-vindaloo type, so we done the sensible thing and asked for the chefs recommendation.

Wow it was great, a must if you visit the area.

Visiting Newark for the Theatre and chose this restaurant because of the reviews, so pleased we did, Indian food at its best, gr8 service and a fantastic food choice, definitely be going back, EXCELLENT

User

Visited Koinonia last night for the first time for several years and was not disappointed, the staff are unassuming but extremely attentive which adds to the relaxed ambience of the restaurant. The food is one word ‘perfection’ as a pescatarian with a carnivorous husband the menu offers plenty to delight us both. We will definitely not leave it as long before our return.

User

This is one of the best Indian restaurants on the planet been here several times always enjoyed it always good value for money in service is second to none because it's from South India there's lots of different dishes that you would not normally get in a tandoori Restaurant recommend it highly cheers Phil

This evening I dined at the restaurant for the second time ever. Just like my first visit, the staff were friendly, helpful and provided excellent service. The food was amazing - for my started I opted for the Cheera parippu soup. This soup was sooo tasty - packed full of flavour. I would highly recommend this. For my main I opted for the Biriyani - this was as delicious as when I had it during my first visit to Koinonia. I was stuffed but was tempted by the homemade avocado ice cream. So myself and my friend decided to share. The ice cream was different but in a good way. I couldn't manage my scoop but that's not a reflection on the taste but more to do with the fact I was extremely full!

I will definitely be visiting again

Many thanks Koinonia!

User

The most delicious food available in newark. Indian but fresh and light and so tasty. The staff are so friendly, helpful and attentive and nothing is too much to ask. Have been recommending to friends and boasting about how good our meal was for our birthday. Will defintley be back!

User

Really welcoming staff with good knowledge of the menu.

Service was efficient and friendly.

Food was very different to a normal curry restaurant. That was definitely a reason to visit and we will be back!

We were blown away with the quality of food and the flavours were superb.

My daughter and I were looking for somewhere to go and eat tonight. Most places were full and so was Koinonia, but they kindly squeezed us in. We are both vegan so eating out can be problematic. No problem with Koinonia! Lots of vegan choices with very knowledgeable staff. The service was speedy despite the restaurant being full. The food was divine and beautifully presented. They even managed to find us vegan ice cream to go with our banana sweet! All of this and incredibly reasonable prices. A real gem of a place and well worth the drive over from Nottingham.

Hi all if you are like me and love India food this is the restaurant for you it's not your typical Indian restaurant because it comes from the south of India so the flavours and spices are a lot different . I have been to this restaurant many times now and it's always been an enjoyable experience.Cheers Phil

Don't usually like Indian food but the Keralan cuisine was delicious. This has not been our first visit here as we always find the staff warm and friendly we will definitely be visiting here again. Thank you Koinonia for another memorable evening.

Delightfully different, supremely special. I'm a bit of a connoisseur of Indian food and this place really blew me away. It's not your average balti, it's menu and hospitality is built around the authentic taste of the Kerala region of southern India. The Koinonia fully deserves it's Trip Adviser listing of #1 of 169 restaurants in Newark-on-Trent, I will certainly be visiting again. Full marks!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely gorgeous food, really friendly service and reasonable prices

User

Amazing food, don't expect your usual Indian dishes ! This is the real traditional food of this region absolutely amazing food and great service this will become a regular treat

User

A little piece of perfection From someone who avoids Indians due to not being a lover of spicey food, (I wish I was but my taste buds won't allow it) we ended up here spontaneously and ordered a beef dish that came with mashed potatoes and the crab masala along with rice and bread and wine and beer. We had not booked and arrived late, at 9pm. I have been here but my partner hasn't .. What a perfect evening. This restaurant is a little treasure and a must visit even if you don't like spicy food. We will be back
