Dear Friend,
Ansula and I have travelled extensively and we have been lucky enough to have seen many beautiful parts of the world.
When travelling, it is quite easy to find yourselves wondering about the cultural differences amongst people's behaviour... sometimes it is simple to understand, sometimes it is impossible to give a rational answer to that.
... In Sardinia, we have many costumes and traditions that are still in place and fortunately that are nowhere near ending as yet: from daily things like asking to stay for dinner for at least 3 times before accepting a no as an answer, to inviting the whole village to weddings; from preserving the traditional Sardinian costumes, to passing jewellery as a family legacy to the next generation.
Tomorrow the biggest parade of Sardinian costumes and traditions (La Sagra di Sant'Efisio) will be held in Cagliari. According to the story, in 1656 the people of Sardinia prayed Sant'Efisio to help the island against the pest that was killing thousands of people. After many prayers, Sant'Efisio accepted to save the people of the island under one condition, Sardinians should dedicate a parade to be held each year in his honour. Starting from the following year (1657) a procession has been held every year without failure on the 1st of May.
If we were to pray to Sant'Efisio today, Ansula and I together with the KOKKU team would pray for the people of Sri Lanka and for mankind to find harmony with each other. We ask for these horrible acts to cease and we commit to supporting peaceful and joyful traditions like the Sagra di Sant'Efisio and the Art of Filigree for many more centuries to come.
Yours,
Andrea, Ansula and the KOKKU team

The 2019 has started with the arrival of the best news we could have hoped for... the invitation to the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe 2019!
This year this wonderful market has seen more than 700 applications and KOKKU has been selected to be one in 150 that will take part. As every year, this important achievement has given us the enthusiasm, the courage and most importantly the inspiration to create new designs. After the introduction of our Turquoise Collectio...n in 2018, our newest line is well under way. We have already made sketches, reviewed options and approved final designs of the traditional and yet innovative jewelry that we will present in Santa Fe this year.
Our new creations use materials that are new for KOKKU jewelry even though they have been very much part of the most rooted traditions in Sardinia. We will unveil a bit more in the next coming months however the full presentation will be available for the first time only in Santa Fe 2019 between 12th and 14th of July.
The Mystic Meaning of our new collection is: LIFE.
We are excited and keen to hold up to our promise to produce new jaws-dropping pieces and we look forward once again to meet loyal and new supporters in July 2019!
Yours,
Andrea, Ansula and the KOKKU team
