Kothu Kothu Description
Kothu Kothu is a Sri Lankan street food stall specialise in one dish, Kothu Roti.
Kothu Roti is Sri Lanka’s most famous & loved street food dish. Found on almost every street corner in Colombo, its famous not only for its taste but also for its unique and theatrical preparation. Traditionally cooked on a heated iron sheet, the cutting and mixing of the ingredients is done using two blunt metal blades. This quick and repeated striking of metal blades on the hot metal griddle creates a very distinct sound and is often done to the beat of music.
Kothu Roti is made from a roti called Godhamba roti, the roti is then mixed with vegetables, egg, meat, and spices.
I will be offering chicken, mutton or vegetable Kothu Roti, it will be served with a garlic and mint yoghurt or chutney.
