Spartans Academy's chief instructor Gheorghe Husar's real life experience and knowledge in combat is second to none.

Because when he teaches you in class, he doesn't just tell you what technique to do but he meticulously breaks it down on how to do it properly and furthermore teaches you the reasons behind why you're doing it that way to begin with.

Why is this important to you as a student?

Because by challenging you to think about and understand the concepts and principles of krav maga as well as the reasons behind every technical detail of each technique he wants you to absorb and retain the information better than if you were only subjected to simple mechanical memorisation of techniques.

This ultimately means you will perform better in a violent attack and will be more likely to adapt and overcome unforeseen attacks with counterattacks of you're own.

Because of the above reasons you will often hear Gheorghe say in class " keep your hands up, observe the distance, look for the opportunity and neutralise the threat because action beats reaction, use tactical savagery if you can and when you disengage, scan the area around you for additional threats, weapons to defend yourself with and an escape route to make your getaway and get home safely " when we are practising and learning new techniques.
