Two Monuments One Week
Paris - Roubaix Challenge 2019 A liberal frost welcomed us at the start In Roubaix this morning. Never mind it was dry, and we are here to ride our bikes.... 145 km of French countryside, and a few sectors of pave. The reward being to ride into one of the most iconic theatres in cycling, the Roubaix velodrome, and tomorrow we get to see it done properly. Hotelibis Kwaremont Bier

Giro D'Italia 2019 'On Days Like these'
Monday 27th May 2019 Depart for an early morning crossing from Dover, breakfast on board. Then the start of our road trip, driving through France, Belgium, Luxembourg and on to our overnight stop in Germany.... Arriving in good time for a wash and brush up and dinner.
Tuesday 28th May After breakfast continue our journey into the Alps and Austria, two mountain passes later we enter into Italy, and the German speaking Alta Adige. Dropping down into Bolzano and along the Adige valley to Trento. Arriving at the four star Hotel Monte Bondone mid afternoon.
Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th and Friday 31st may Three consecutive days of riding in the Val dei Laghi. Alpine climbs, valley floors and stunning mountain lakes.
Saturday 1st June Stage 20 Giro D'italia Feltre to Croce D'Aune-Monte Avena A queen stage across the Dolomites, with over 5,000 m elevation gain. The route takes in climbs up Cima Campo, Passo Manghen and Passo Rolle, and a closing climb up Croce d'Aune-Monte Avena. The stage course covers the historical route of the Gran Fondo Sportful. The last summit finish features long climbs (over 15 km), with gradients exceeding 10-12% at points. Get to experience Grand Tour racing in the mountains.
Sunday 2nd June Stage 21 Giro D'Italia The closing time trial on the Torricelle circuit. After the first part on wide and straight avenues, the route takes in the Torricelle climb (4.5 km with a 5% gradient and a few punchy bits). The route then descends for 4 km along wide roads, all the way to Piazza Bra and the Arena. We will ride down the Adige valley to Verona to see the final podium places decided.
Monday3rd June Check out and start the return journey to the UK, including an overnight stop in Germany, and an afternoon crossing on Tuesday 4th June.
8 nights accommodation, on a twin sharing, bed and breakfast basis. 6 European countries. 4 days cycling in Northern Italy 2 stages of the 2019 Giro D'Italia

The Ename Classic 2019
The first big ride of the year, we returned to have our legs stretched the only way that Flanders can. It didn't disappoint, gale force winds, horizontal rain, hail stones and proper cycling, including complimentary beers at the final feed station at the Romain brewery. We stayed dry and warm in our new Bioracer cycling kit, proving there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad kit.

Looking forward to the first big ride of the year!

Friday 17th May 2019
Leaving Felixstowe for a 20.30 arrival at Parkstone Quay, Harwich, collections en-route or meet at the terminal. For the 23.00 Stena night sailing to Hoek van Holland, our accommodation on board is twin cabins with private facilities.
Saturday 18th May 2019... Arrival at the Hoek van Holland, breakfast on board before disembarkation and the short drive to Ouddorp on the island of Goeree Overflakke, and the start of the days ride. We will ride over a 100 miles through the islands and waterways that make up the dutch province of Zeeland. We visit towns like Middleburg, Zierikzee, Middlharnis, following the Dutch junction system, and trying to achieve minimal elevation gain. On completion of the day return to the Hoek van Holland and a well earned wash and brush up and the night sailing to Harwich.
Sunday 19th May 2019 Early morning arrival at Harwich and disembarkation and the journey home.
The cost of this two night tour is £178
This includes travel to and from Holland. Two nights accommodation, twin sharing, breakfast included on the outward crossing. All associated transfers in Zeeland. The transportation of one bike per person.

Winter Training Camp
Today we concluded four days of intensive winter 'training' here on Monte Bondone. The weather has been kind and the piste conditions first class. As usual the Hotel Monte Bondone Resort has catered for all our needs, and the food at the Chalet Rocce Rosse Mountain Lounge was sublime.

Easter Monday 22nd April 2019 Peter Van Petegem Classic
... Peter Van Petegem is one of only ten riders in the history of the sport to win both the Ronde van Vlaandrian and Paris~Roubaix in the same season.
Sunday 21st April 2019 Depart for a 10.00 sailing from Dover. Arriving at our four star hotel in Oudenaarde early afternoon. Allowing plenty of time to relax and prepare for the following days ride.
Easter Monday 22nd April 2019 After enjoying the full buffet breakfast in the hotel we will make the thirty minute transfer to Brakel, the starting point of the Peter Van Petegem Classic. At the time of posting final details of the ride has not been released by the organisers. There are normally three parcours to choose from, once these have been confirmed we will update this post. On completion of the ride return to Oudenaarde, dinner and a well earned Belgium mineral water.
Tuesday 23rd April 2019 Leisurely breakfast, check out from hotel, morning free in Oudenaarde, allowing time for a visit to the Centre Ronde van Vlaandrian. Depart after lunch for the crossing home.
Cost of this two night tour £288
This includes two nights accomodation in the four star Hotel Leopold, on a twin sharing basis, including full buffet breakfast. Transport to and from the hotel, all transfers associated with the Peter Van Petegem Classic. Transportation of one bike per person.

Paris Roubaix 2019
‘The Hell of The North’
The pave of northern France is legendary in cycling and Paris Roubaix is regarded as the Queen of the classics.... The Sunday after the Ronde van Vlaanderen it is the third monument of the cycling season, and though the race is staged in France and finishes in the iconic velodrome in Roubaix it is seen as the domain of the Belguim hard men.
Friday the 12th April 2019 Depart Suffolk 06.00 for a 10.00 crossing from Dover, collection points enroute. From Calais we will head to Roubaix to complete our registration for the Paris Roubaix Challenge and soak up the atmosphere. Then on to the hotel in Kortrijk, arriving on good time to enjoy the hospitality of the medieval main square, and an early night.
Saturday 13th April ‘One Saturday inHell’ After an early breakfast transfer to Roubaix and the start of the ride. On completion of the ride return to the hotel and a chance to take advantage of the hotels leisure facilities and relax.
Sunday 14th April 2019 After a good nights sleep and a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel, and travel to the fan zone on the Carrefour de L’arbre. Where we can watch the race unfold on the big screen and watch The peloton race by. After the conclusion of the race return to Calais and the homeward journey
The cost of this two night classic, in four star accommodation, including breakfast, all travel and transfers is £288 per person.
This is on a twin sharing basis and the transportation of one bike per person. Does not include entry to the Paris ~ Roubaix Challenge.
