Hi.
Sitting here in studio. Hope your day is going well?
Just saw Solange's 'A Seat At The Table' go NUMBER 1 in the US... ... Madness... Around this time 3 years ago is fully fully flooding back to me...
Solo kindly flew me out to New Orleans twice, the first time I was with my guys Olugbenga, Kindness and Sampha. I met Solo, her wonderful son Juelz and husband Alan, master engineer Blue, Melissa, Armina, Charlotte and the great people at Esplanade Studios. We hung out, jammed/recorded for hours, day and night. Also went out for dinners and to Club Continental when we were locked out one evening, watching bartenders play brass instruments effortlessly and having a little dance and drink. I also ate oysters for the first time and I hated them; I remember Samph not feeling them too ha. We nonetheless had an amazing time. Second time round I went on my own to do some further editing with the other master engineer Nino at Solo's, which was also a great experience.
Those 2 trips all came and went so quickly, but the memories I'll never forget. I feel mad blessed to be involved in such a beautiful record and to have been in such wonderful company.
Phew, sorry for long message, going to get back to work now.

Here's a song I produced for the crazily talented Loyle Carner. It's called 'Florence' and it's about wanting a little sister. He "coerced" me into writing and singing on it, and I happily acquiesced, so this is also my first feature haha.
