4 years ago we proudly contributed to the industry’s first Code of Conduct for the operation of #autonomous vessels. Responsible operation will become an increasingly important topic as adoption of the technology continues to grow.
We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Maritime Autonomous Systems Regulatory Working Group (MASRWG) Conference hosted by Maritime UK this week in London. The forum will discuss the legal, technological, operational and political aspects effecting the operation of autonomous vessels.

This week MAST 13 took to the English Channel to put its surveillance capabilities to the test in a high-speed autonomous exercise.
Reaching speeds of up to 30 knots the vessel navigated the busy shipping lanes using feedback from several sensors including an L3Harris / Wescam Inc. MX-10MS camera.
Designed and built by L3 ASV for DSTL, MAST 13 is an autonomy test platform developed to support new concepts for the Royal Navy.

We recently participated in the latest Royal Navy Autonomous Advanced Force 2 Trial at the Royal Marines innovation and trial unit. Thank you to our team who performed exceptionally when faced with some tough conditions across the two weeks. It was great to see DSTL's MAST 9 in action.

Our Managing Director Mark Exeter was delighted to host General Sir Nick Carter, Chief of Defence Staff along with Vice Admiral Nick Hine, Second Sea Lord and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff on board the MAST 13 Autonomous Surface Vehicle yesterday at Portsmouth Naval Base.
MAST 13 autonomously transported the party from Navy Command Headquarters to Semaphore Tower. This transit signified the Royal Navy’s desire to adopt autonomous systems through their autonomy accelerator programme ‘NavyX’, leveraging the rapidly advancing capability that L3Harris is developing in partnership with Dstl.

#throwbackthursday to when we first operated an #ASV over the horizon from our Mission Control Centre in Portchester UK.
We’ve come a long way in the past two years, developing #autonomy to help mitigate the challenges of over the horizon communications links. Stay tuned for more updates on our recent developments.
