Thank Lord, it is transforming into PureGym... for £30 a month(joining fee of £15 and you can opt out anytime....
No I don't work for PureGym, I live locally and I know this will be successful as they are open 24/7

F**K LA fitness, They are expensive and rude,
you have oasis gym, which is good,
all better gyms are very good and well maintained with staff and space,
easy gym, very cheap and very big and too many people,
gym box expensive but different, different classes like no other.

LA Fitness is just another gym, nothing special, thats why they are closing down

The gym is ok - a treadmill is usually available, but the classes can get very full - so much so that your workout becomes less effective becomes of the condensed space you have to work in. I think there are better options for the price.

The gym is passable at best, which is reflected in the price compared to other city gyms.

What really holds this gym back is the staff. From the overly rude shift managers to the pushy trainers, it all makes for a stressful atmosphere. I've overheard the staff comments on myself and other members of the club when they think they're out of earshot.

Nearly every complaint goes unnoticed, the gym's line seems to be "it is a head-office issue/decision/fault", it seems like everything from broken equipment to special offers seem to only come from head office.

I had previously rated this much higher but after several months of broken equipment, flies in the shower rooms and rude staff I've changed it to reflect a more accurate rating. Even though the gym hasn't met standards the gym will force you into your contract without acting on any complains. Avoid LA Fitness and Holborn gym in particular.

If I reviewed the gym based on people who work there, it'd probably be a 4 or 5, as the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and helpful staff, to making sure you are comfortably with using the equipment.

The rest, from the outdated broken equipment, to the leaking ceiling, the odd number of dumbbells, only being 4 of the most used dumbbells, only one rope to share on the cable machines.

There is a leaking air conditioning unit, maybe once every 3 weeks.

There is also the state of the changing rooms, there is always a smell of urine in the air, so not sure if that's because of men missing the urinals, or something else.

They have a good sized pool for being in Central London, and a steam room which is useful, you just need to put towels under the door to stop all the heat dissipating.

What I'd say is, if you can get a corporate discount, then it is worth it, but if they got a "secret shopper" style person in, then most of these could easily be fixed, as the gym is a good location and the staff are great.
