User

Excellent food as is the service, in a great location. It is our favourite eatery in the town.

User

Amazing tasty food served by very pleasant staff. Even though its the middle of Halifax, under the glass roof with the heat of the sun it felt like we were abroad. Definitely be going again. Thanks

User

Went for breakfast . Which was nice . The only thing was myself and friend was having a catch up over, breakfast it was early morning and not many people in . We was asked three, times if we wanted more coffee as if they wanted us out or a way of us,spending more. Not good in that respect

User

We called on Saturday before going onto a show. We had lovely food mains & dessert (some desserts were sold out at 6pm! ) The service & food served was beautiful I really enjoyed my crab & prawn linguine. The only downside for a newly expanded restaurant was one toilet each for men & women ! At the time we left 6.30-7pm there was a bit queue resulting in some ladies (in their 60/70s ) using the men’s toilets due to the seating capacity!! ....

User

Great atmosphere, pleasant surroundings. Lovely tea pots, lovely scrambled egg and big mushrooms and quality sausages. Bacon over done and a bit chewy. Hash Browns lush. Might not go back for breakfast, but would defiantly like to try La luna again for lunch. Staff were great!

User

Very slow taking order. Waited 25 mins before drinks order then further 10 mins for drinks to arrive and food order to be taken. Was ok would try again as meal lovely and very good value.

User

I have been to La Luna many times and the problem I find is that its inconsistent with the quality of the food and the service. Also if you want to make a booking over the phone do so first or last thing otherwise the staff can't hear you above the noise in the restaurant. Id say it's a good place to go when the main aim is to get together with friends in pleasant surroundings.

User

I had halloumi and roasted Mediterranean veg tagliatelle which was delicious. My friend had salmon and avocado salad, sadly all onion and heavy salad dressing which caused heartburn. Avocado was halved and served in shell so presentation not great. Salmon was tasty.

We Requested water jugs for table and was told they didn’t have these. Served lukewarm small glasses of water instead, no ice or slice. Waitress had a lot of trips to keep these replenished! Sparkling and still water sold in small bottles for just under £3.50!!

Small glass of house wine 4.50!

Sadly 2of our party failed to cancel and had pre-ordered food (as requested by La Luna), we were informed this would have to be paid for in full by the customers attending as it had been prepped already! No deposits were requested and we were not informed of this prior to booking.

We Won’t be returning.

User

Called for breakfast this morning and greeted by a lovely guy. Ordered coffee, came to food order and told I wasn’t able to exchange eggs and I’d have to just have them on my plate as the chef was too busy...I’d say sufficient seating available for another 40 ish. I understand so just take the egg off...that’s also not possible as chef says no alterations. Having an egg allergy we walked away with a poor opinion on customer service to people with allergies. An explanation would have been nice as we really could see a problem.

Yesterday evening, my fiance, mum and myself went to La Luna for a couple or drinks before heading to th theatre. We asked if we could sit outside as there were several empty tables and then we informed the staff that we did not wish to order food. The staff looked baffled at this and said he'd have to check with his manager; he then came back and said we couldn't drink there if we weren't eating as it's a 'busy night'. I'd like point out that this was at 6.30pm, there were several empty tables both indoors and outside, we would have been staying for around 40 minutes and would have more than likely ordered two rounds of drinks. So all in all the restaurant lost out as we took out business elsewhere. When walking passed it again on our way to theatre we saw the tables were still half empty. Your loss. But as previous loyal customers who used to come here for lunch, special occasions etc. We won't be coming back and I shan't be recommending you to anyone I know.

User

Went for a meal with some friends last night, I have to say the food was nice, not excellent but nice. The service however was terrible, we asked for tap water with our meal (this was after having had a round of drinks) it took over 20 mins to arrive and the waiters were more service with a grimace than a smile.

If you want nice food and poor service it's fine, but when it's over £20 a head for essentially a pasta 2 course meal, I expect more cost nothing especially if you want a nice tip.

User

Looks can be deceiving. It looked like a lovely little place so I popped in while dashing around trying to find a loo for my toddler. Asked if I could use their loo for her as it was a bit desperate. 3 members of staff looked baffled and says they needed to check. We could have used the toilet in the time it took them to decide that, no, a small child was not worthy of their (presumably superior) toilet facilities. They were for customers only. Which I get, but a little child, clearly in discomfort...

And what of potential customers? Because although I was a stressed mum trying to find my daughter a toilet that day, sometimes I’m wanting to eat out & have drinks with my friends. Guess where I won’t be going with them? To that lovely looking little place which turned out to be so unfriendly. Looks can be deceiving.
