Lakes Aquarium

I had fun and the kids enjoyed it, unfortunately however there is a but. It was a bit pricey to get in, it was very crowded so it was hard to see a lot of the displays and some of the tanks were in desperate need of cleaning. That being said this isn't some some huge multinational corporation with an unlimited budget so I do feel somewhat inclined to give them a bit of a break. Would I go again? Probably not, there really isn't enough to see. Would I recommend it to others? Sure, it's definitely fun and doesn't outstay it's welcome, if you have kids and haven't been before you will enjoy it, so long as your expectations aren't too high.

Very enjoyable, good selection of fish and other animals. Good value for money. We got a joint ticket with the ferry from Bowness.

Great aquarium lots to see my children loved the Otters enclosure. Lots for the little ones to see and do. I have been 3 times now as its just off the platform of the haverigg steam train

I love it here. Always visit at least once a year. And if you actually pay attention to each exhibit it's a nice day out. Two cafes to eat at and access to boat and train rides round lake Windermere. The otters are the best!!! Xx

For what it is, it's decent value for money just don't expect too much excitement! Took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get around at a very slow pace. Our older (8 and 11) children enjoyed but our 4 year old was bored most of the time. Great to have the option of returning whenever we liked that day as well.

It was the worst aquarium I have ever been to in my life I won't swearer but it needs to be shut down and the fish and the other animals need moved to a better environment for there welfare I only gave one star because I had to leave a review if I could give it a proper rating __ 10 and That s being generous

Brilliant place for kids. Only downside is the nearest toilet is outside near the train track. A fair distance for a toddler who needs a toilet close by

Good couple of hours on a wet morning. You need to do the quiz to make it last with the kids but plenty of fish to keep them interested. You can also buy combined tickets for the steam train and cruise - all from the same place.

Very impressive. Huge tanks holding all varieties of colourful small and large aquatic species. Great to see Otters there too.The tour is almost Maze like, with every turn bringing you into a different environment.
