If you want peace and quiet with loverly views of the lake or you want a great days fishing then you nead to come visit lakeside the warden's are loverly people and the place is spotless my wife and I love this fantastic caravan park one person reviewed this site and complained about speeding serves him right rules are rules and if you brake them then expect to get told off
We couldn’t praise enough. The site is beautiful and well kept by the site managers who are welcoming, friendly, hardworking, and always most helpful. We cannot believe some of the ignorant comments on here from some people. Somebody complains because the site manager expressed annoyance at a young mother feeding kids on the grass?! Well, it’s an Adult Only site, hardly surprising! Another one complains because the site manager shouted at a customer for driving too fast beyond the 10mph limit on the grass. We say well done! to the site manager! The rules are in place for everyone’s safety and enjoyment, idiots who drive too fast should be dealt with firmly and quickly! Another sad person comments that the site managers seem ‘keen on taking cash instead of cards’, inferring some kind of scam. How ignorant, they simply don’t take cards, it’s cash or cheque on site and never a problem if you haven’t a chequebook and need to get the cash. For the benefit of those considering coming here, all we can say is that we’ve been Caravan Club Members for over 30 years and you wont find a better managed site anywhere, it really is one of the best and a very nice place to be if you’re visiting the area. The site managers are here to uphold standards for everyone’s benefit and should not face criticism for doing their job well!
Wonderfully quiet site. Brilliant fishing and the wardens are friendly polite and helpful. Such a relaxing place to unwind

I Spent a week this month and found the ground to be kept mainly OK.
After speaking with some of returning campers, it seems the service has become somewhat poor.
First, the site managers seem to be keen to want cash payments and not card payments. Past campers explain their view to me, saying the site owner is losing money.
With the electric cards you have to buy. if the usage is not used up when you leave, the site managers do not leave the credit for the next camper, they put the meter back to zero. I guess this is an example of the site owner clawing back money.
Finley, the site managers need to focus on consistent customer service. E.g. when approaching them to asked about something they may be very polite and helpful and another time they become very off handed and sometimes rude, this is mainly the male site manager, who behaves this way.
E.g. with the male manager, I was driving about 3 miles an hour over the site 10 mph speed limit, he waved me down, didn’t say good morning or Hi, how are you? He just became slightly aggressive towards me re the camp site speed.
A few days into my camping trip, I could hear the male site manager shouting and being aggressive towards a camper who was driving across the grass over the 10 mph speed limit. The camper may have needed to slow down, but that was no way to speak to people. The site manager should be ashamed of himself.
I’m sorry to say I would not recommend this site to anyone at this time. I feel the site owner needs to reflect on what he wants for his customers.
Peaceful and quiet
If I could give it less, I would. Owners screaming at a young family when the mother sat on the grass to feed her baby. Should be ashamed of themselves!
I've not been here bug my grandad and dad give it full marks for friendliness and facilities for fishing and taking your caravan great for getting away
