Wedding DIY 101 - Rustic Crate Centrepiece
Bring the outside in with this beautifully-scented table decoration. You can recreate the below using flowers to match your colour scheme/style.
... You will need: *Pink wax flowers *Pittosporum garnetti *Dahlia Cafe au Lait *Sweet Avalanche roses *Dill *Blue Veronica *Delphinium *Blue Hydrangea *30x20cm wooden crate *Oasis block *Plastic tray *Cellophane
Make it: 1 - Line the crate with cellophane or plastic bin bag 2 - Cut the oasis to size and place in a bucket of water until soaked 3 - Place the oasis in the crate on a plastic oasis tray 4 - Edge the foliage and wax flowers. Position your key flowers in the oasis 5 - Cut stems to length diagonally, to increase their surface area to drink the water 6 - Fill in remaining space with other flowers 7 - Make sure the crate looks good from all sides. Look at it from above, as well as the height you would view it from when sitting at a table, then fill in any gaps

'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue....and a Silver Sixpence for your shoe'
Ever since you got engaged, you've probably had this old wedding rhyme recited to you! Superstition states that in order to have a long and happy marriage you need to have all of the above included on your big day. People will definitely ask you what items you've got on that are old, blue, borrowed and new, so you may aswell have something to tell them!
... Something Old ''Represents continuity'' There are quite a few 'old' items you can use to incorporate into your wedding look; especially with the huge demand in the vintage trend. We love the idea of wearing jewellery belonging to your mum or nan, be it a brooch, garter, earrings or necklace. Something old doesn't even have to be clothing or accessories. If you've an old family cake topper for example, you could use that!
Something New ''Offers optimism for the future'' Your something new is most likely going to be your wedding dress, or your new husband! If you're recycling a family wedding dress or borrowing one then what else could you use for new? Kate Middleton wore a new pair of diamond earrings on her wedding day. Many grooms buy their brides-to-be a gift which is presented to them on the morning of the wedding, which might be a bracelet, earrings or a necklace etc. Alternatively, if material items are not your thing you could think about a brand new look i.e. hair colour, cut, teeth whitening, laser eye surgery etc. or you could even buy a new shade of lipstick or make-up if on a budget.
Something Borrowed ''Symbolises borrowed happiness'' Accessories are a great thing to borrow, if you can; someone close to you may wish to lend you their tiara or a brooch etc. for you to wear. It can also make the lender feel that little bit closer to you on your big day.
Something Blue ''Stands for purity, loves and fidelity'' We see lots of brides-to-be add a bit of blue to their garter as their something blue, but you could choose a more visible blue accessory. Light blue wedding shoes can look amazing with a traditional wedding dress; bright blue would even look amazing and add that bit of POP to your day. Some brides even opt for a coloured wedding dress; nothing too bold/dramatic but pale blues and pinks are right on trend for wedding gowns. Allternatively, if you had a sapphire engagement ring maybe that could be your something blue?
Silver Sixpence for your Shoe ''A wish for good fortune and prosperity, although this remains largely a British custom'' The classic rhyme ends with a silver sixpence in your shoe. You don't have to wear this the whole time, but this is something you could also borrow if you know anyone who had one on their big day, that way you could double your luck!

Are you getting married this year? Try incorporating one or two of the below details into your big day giving it that extra POP of style!!
Rose Gold EVERYTHING Rose Gold is the perfect mix of romantic-luxe, it has an every season appeal meaning it can work as fabulously for a sunny-spring wedding as it can a winter wonderland. You can add touches of Rose Gold via painted leaves either in the bouquets or centrepieces, sequinned table cloths or painted edible treats for your gu...ests to enjoy.
FEATHER Details Feathers have been BIG news on the latest catwalks, with faux-feather skirts and appliquéing lighting up the catwalks at various international bridal shows. The perfect pick for fashion-loving brides wanting to vamp up the va-va voom with their bridal gown.
Bringing the indoors OUTSIDE.... This has been a trend for a while now but it is proving a really popular trend for 2016. Forget moving single pieces of furniture and think big by recreating entire rooms (just remember to have a plan in case it rains!).
Wedding Cake for DESSERT. This is perfect for all those couples looking to cut the cost of their wedding breakfast down slightly. This idea is deliciously simple; instead of serving a pudding course, simply dish up your wedding cake. Yummy!!
Creatively displayed FLORAL arrangements Plain vases are simply out this year! I nstead, get your creative juices flowing with decorations and adornments to transform your floral arrangements.
SEQUINS galore! 2016 is all about SPARKLE! From sequin-studded dresses for your maids to glitter encrusted table cloths; ways of including sequins in your big day are endless - and available in colours to match every colourscheme.
Throwback finger FOOD. For 2016 wedding receptions will serve up a veritable feast, in bite-sized portions - from cookies and milk, mini portions of fish and chips, mini mac'n'cheese to dinky burgers etc.
