Health Care - Infection Control Level 2
Course Duration: One Day With all the new ‘Superbugs’ being reported knowledge of how to prevent and control infection is essential if you work in caring for others such as schools, care homes; domiciliary care work along with dental practitioners, health care staff etc. The course does satisfy registration within the Care Quality Commission framework and includes giving an understanding on the causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive, the ways they can spread together with the methods of cleaning and waste disposal that help prevent the spread of infection along with the personal protective equipment which can be used for their own safety. Guided Learning Hours are 6. Assessment for this national award is by a mutli-choice question paper.

AED Training Course Duration 3 hours Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest. We offer a comprehensive Automated External Defibrillation (AED) programme based on the necessary theory, backed up with lots of practical sessions. The course is run over half a day, and is made as informative, yet as enjoyable as possible, thus allowing the students to gain confidence. Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be awarded a certification valid for 1 year.

Paediatric First Aid Course Course Duration 2 Days This course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Preschool Learning Alliance, The National Child Minding Association and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course and includes both theory and practical sessions. Upon successful completetion of this course candidates will be awarded a three year certificate.

Yearly Update Course Duration 3 hours. The HSE strongly recommends that students attend a refresher session once every year during this three year period.This course is for people holding a current First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.The yearly update course provides students with an opportunity to practice and update their skills at any time during their three yearly period as a qualified first aider. Sessions build on your expertise and confidence by involving you in realistic situations with simulated casualties. Candidates will practice First Aid in practical, hands-on scenario sessions
