Situated in the former mining village of Whaley Thorns, the museum is home to the John Hyatt Collection, a collection of artefacts which show the history of the villages from the agricultural beginnings, through industrialisation to the modern day.

The Langwith Whaley Thorns Heritage Centre is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the representation and conservation of the heritage of the people of Whaley Thorns, Langwith and its surrounding area.
The museum is a great place to visit to experience the history of a mining and farming community whether your from the local area, or from further afield.
