We're swapping out some technical gadgets today and as a result, some of our other stuff won't be working properly - like credit card machines and our phones. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We aim to be fully up and running by the end of the day. Thanks.

Wonderful place. The house and gardens are just magnificent. Lunch in the servants hall was very good and not over priced like at some places. We found the staff very helpful and informative. It is a long walk from the car park but there is a shuttle buggy for those that can't do the walk. If in any doubt, take the buggy and save your energy for the house and gardens.

User

Wish we could have spent longer here as the house is just fabulous as are the gardens. We would definitely go back as the staff are particularly friendly too and there is so much to learn about how it was to live and work during this period

User

What an amazing place, testimony to the way landred and wealthy people lived in the Victorian age, beautiful gardens and church, excellent afternoon out.

User

We had a lovely day. - started by exploring the house and gardens after a super coffee and cake in the Park Cafe. Superb building, superb coffee and friendly staff. The food looked wonderful, but we had bought a picnic! We then hired two bikes to test out the cycle trails. At only £16 for 3 hours (inc helmet) a absolute bargain. The bikes were top notch and we managed all trails (and our picnic) in the 3 hours. Such fun - highly recommend it!! Well done NT!

This is an amazing location and I think one of the National Trusts finest.

I live local to it so I visit regularly as the grounds are amazing with vast cycle trails etc. and to see the changes through the seasons is breathtaking.

The outer grounds are vast and run on and on through Cornish valleys. The gardens that surround the house are also in a class of their own and have an ever changing balance throughout the year, you don't have to be a horticulturist to be wowed by them.

The house itself is incredible and the journey you take through the kitchens, dinning rooms, bakeries and the onto various function rooms, bedrooms, servants quarters etc. are a really trip back in time and the curators have great pride and knowledge which they are happy to share. The food offerings are good too and reasonably priced.

All in all a great place to spend a day.

Third visit. Our favourite NT day out. An absolute gem. Loads for kids to do. Cycling, walks, gardens and not to mention the house. The kitchen alone is worth the trip. Good food in the restaurant too. Cannot fault this place.

User

One of the most beautiful national trust houses I have visited. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The house and grounds are extensive so you need a whole day to see both. Definitely worth going to.

Lanhydrock is a gem in the middle of Cornwall, when you enter the house it feels you have stepped back in time, and the gardens are a pleasure to view and walk around, there are also wonderful woodland walks taking you down to the river Fowey at Respryn.I've walked these woods for almost 50 years, sometimes you see deer, and kingfishers on the river,I never tire of my walks. You can be sure of a great day out .

Lanhydrock has always been one of my favourite places in Cornwall, I always enjoy going back no matter what the season! 😊 the staff are excellent and attentive and the guides around the house are always happy to talk to you about anything in the house. I always enjoy walking around the house and gardens at my own pace and always leave extremely happy with the day that I’ve had. I went yesterday with my sister in law who’s 7 months pregnant and a member of staff asked if we’d like to put our heavy bags in the cloakroom, it was a lovely gesture and it made walking around the house a lot lighter. We loved walking around and didn’t feel rushed to move on to the next room. We missed the chance to have a cream tea but I fully intend on going back! Thank you Lanhydrock for another lovely day! ❤️

User

I really love it, nice big flowery garden, old mansion with creepy lullaby....can't get enough of it....if I could, I like to spend one whole week just to explore every rooms and every corners there...amazing place

User

Great place to visit, plenty to see and do. Always enjoy visiting, been many times with my wife, but on my own now, fantastic place.

User

Didn't go inside the house this time as it was a glorious day, the gardens are spectacular at the moment and well worth a visit.

User

We went on Easter Sunday and had a great time. We went to the Servants Hall for lunch, it was excellent and the staff were so friendly. The house and gardens were beautiful, we'll be going back in a few weeks to further explore the grounds as the heavens opened. As it was the school holidays, the NT put on things for the younger visitors to enjoy, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Well worth a visit, whatever your age! Some of the garden won't be accessible to those with limited mobility and carers might find it a bit tough (hilly) to push wheelchairs up. There is a buggy to get you to and from the house to the car park as it's a bit of a steep hill but a great walk for those who can

User

Was a lovely family day visiting Lanhydrock. Really enjoyed the surroundings walks and visiting the house and gardens. However we didn't find one bin around the whole grounds which we found was a downfall. Beautifully kept inside and out and brilliant hospitality from the lady at the front of the house; no pushchairs allowed in the house (obviously) but she gave us a HippyChick carrier for our almost 2 year old which helped our backs ALOT around the house :) Will be returning.

User

Lovely place fascinating ... however I felt the lack of information on individual artifacts and paintings was a little disappointing... there were bits and bobs about the family but there was so much more that could have flared the interest! ... there were a few things randomly placed and displayed that we had no idea what they were or how they worked and what part they would have played in the history of the house! ... that was the only negative! As the house was outstanding and the grounds amazing

User

Lovely grounds to roam around in but was surprised there was a charge for the trail booklets! As NT members we travel to alot of places and havent come across paying for one yet, apart from that its a fanatastic place with very friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

User

Very disappointed with the way we were treated by house staff! Family had all our bags taken off us which threw us a little bit but what wound us up something chronic was that we were the only ones! At least 15 others during our trip had their bags on them that were bigger than ours. I’m not sure what my 9 week old baby’s changing bag carried as a threat but obviously something was an issue!

What’s more than that is the fact I was told I was allowed to breastfeed but bottle fed babies weren’t allowed to be fed! That’s beyond discrimination and actually my breast leaks quicker than a bottle and my son quite often makes more mess feeding from myself anyway! Appalling service!

The house itself is beautiful. We were a party of 6, one of whom is disabled in a wheelchair, another, a baby in a pram. We were greeted as we went into the car park by lovely trust workers who couldn’t do enough to help. Our problems started in the house itself. Before we even got through the disabled access door we were informed that pram weren’t allowed in. So my grandson had to be carried. We were literally shunted from one area to the next by overbearing volunteers. There was no stopping to look at exhibits even if these were only paintings in the corridors or vases on a hall stand. There was somebody in virtually every room to move you on. I tried to get through one doorway and then realised the wheelchair wasn’t going to get through. A woman came up and told me that wheelchairs weren’t supposed get through there! Well, put a notice up then instead of biting my head off! My grandson wanted some juice part way round so we got his juice bottle out and gave it to him. Two seconds later a trust worker was breathing down our necks telling us he couldn’t have his drink anywhere in the house. We took it off him and his daddy ended up having to take him out of the building as he was screaming for the juice he had been denied. I’m embarrassed and upset by this whole afternoon as I had made the decision to spend a fortune on entry only to be overlooked by workers in almost all areas of this beautiful place. I doubt my daughter, her partner and son will ever set foot in another trust house again after our treatment today. So disappointed as I wanted it to be something we all remembered as a highlight to our holiday.
