Laura Gibb Fitness Description

Hi, my name's Laura and I'm a fully qualified Personal Trainer specialising in Pre and Postnatal exercise. I became passionate about the importance of antenatal exercise whilst pregnant with my first daughter, 4 years ago. I discovered that there is a real lack of knowledge and understanding on antenatal exercise aside from the standard recommendations for swimming and pregnancy yoga. I wanted to continue doing my usual fitness programme for as long as possible (obviously with adaptations for my growing bump) but found it hard to find an instructor who could advise me. I even had some negative comments from people about the fact I was continuing to use the gym in pregnancy. So I decided to become qualified in Ante and Postnatal Adaptations to Exercise to find out what I should and shouldn’t be doing. The course was a revelation and I’m keen to advise mums to be and new mums on their exercise programs. As the mother of two young girls (4. 5yr and 2. 5yr) I have experienced first hand exercising throughout my pregnancies and also exercising in the post natal period. I have experienced a difficult birth and recovery (with my first daughter) and therefore I can fully empathise with clients who may also have had a difficult time and understand the importance of carefully planned exercises to help the postnatal body to recover safely.

I am keen to offer a holistic approach to health and exercise that focuses on the mother’s well being and offer her lifestyle and nutrition advice as well as an appropriate fitness programme.
