About Lauterpacht Centre For International Law

The Lauterpacht Centre for International Law is part of the Faculty of Law in the University of Cambridge and one of the Faculty's specialist law centres.

Lauterpacht Centre For International Law Description

The Centre is part of the Faculty of Law in the University of Cambridge and one of the Faculty's specialist law centres. The Centre is the scholarly home of international law at Cambridge University. International law is a major aspect of the Law Faculty's teaching programme at undergraduate, LLM and research level. The Director, Deputy Director and other Fellows of the Centre teach in the Faculty and Colleges.

The Centre's objectives are

* To promote the development of international law through research and publication
* To serve as a forum for the discussion of current events and issues in international law
* To provide an intellectual home in Cambridge for scholars of international law from around the world to pursue their research in a stimulating and congenial atmosphere

What does the Centre do?

* Holds weekly lectures during term time for students and visitors on topical issues in international law and international relations by leading practitioners and academics, as well as hosting seminars on topical and pressing issues of international law
* Publishes important international law texts and case reports
* Provides research facilities and accommodation for visiting fellows from around the world to further their research
* Maintains an international law library which includes source and other archival materials.
