Would rate 10 out of 5 if I could. A perfect setting for an intimate family event, a picturesque location topped off by welcoming hosts. Keith is the best host you can imagine for a wedding, and adds to the charm of what is one of the loveliest hotels I've ever stayed in.

We were invited to a wedding � for a good friend yesterday the place was beautiful the ground were great just a couple of minor things would have been nice to see the water � fountain going in the garden due to the nice weather and the table under the tree � over looking the valley was a bit dirty the rooms we're good loved the air conditioning food was great � the staff were brilliant and having the owner (gardener) lol join us for afternoon tea � at our request was brilliant still waiting for a tractor ride maybe next time overall a brilliant time and a lovely place x

My wife & I got married here on 21st Oct 2017. WOW. The day couldn't have been any more perfect. Keith is an amazing man. He took care of everything leaving us stress free throughout the planning & allowing us to enjoy our pecial day. The accommodation is comfortable & stylish. The honeymoon suite is luxurious. As for the food.....out of this world!

Andrew cooked us an amazing 3 course meal for our wedding breakfast-massive compliments to the chef there!

And all the staff were fantastic, always on hand to answer questions or help out.

It was truly an amazing day and anyone who gets married here will be lucky to have the 25 years plus experience of Keith, Carole, their lovely family and staff.

Lavender House is situated on the Edge of Dartmoor with beautiful Moor land walks near by. But you don't have to travel far to relax as you can take a stroll around their landscaped gardens or mellow with a pint on a comfortable sofa. We were privileged to sample the delights of their cooking at a champagne 5 course dinner, a great evening, beautiful with fabulous hosts Keith and Carol.

Just had a 2 night stay at The Lavender Hotel in Ashburton. Keith The proprietor made our stay with a very warm and friendly welcome. Would thoroughly recommend The Lavender. Home from home. 10 out of 10

If you are looking for a clinical, modern lifeless hotel- you are in the wrong place. However for those of you wanting a loving caring team to become part of your family then this is the place for you. Keith and Carol cannot do enough to make your special day absolutely amazing. The setting, beautiful, the rain - didn't matter as within 15 minutes an outside ceremony had been brought indoors and looked as though it had been planned that way from the get go. The food was delicious. Josh and Laura have many happy memories to take away with them as do the rest of their family. I cannot praise the team enough. It was fabulous and Keith- the Mother of the groom and her hat will be back for another stay in your fantastic hotel x

Got married here on Thursday and I've got to say what an absolutely amazing day , Keith and Co were outstanding ,the day flowed and dispite me being a very nervous bride to be Keith kept me calm and got us all where we needed to be , was a truly magical day ! On behalf of me and my now husband I'd like to say a huge thank you! I'd highly recommended to anyone xx

Stayed at this lovely Hotel last week, where I was looked after very nicely by all the staff I met. It's in a good location not too far from transport links if you don't have a car, just be careful walking up and down the hill. I had a fab breakfast each morning always served with a smile. Room was comfy and large! I would return if I am back that way again.

A very sweet wedding venue, the staff and surroundings immediately make things feel very homely and warm. For my taste there was a little too much clutter/decor but it does very much add to the personality of the venue and is in keeping with the personality of the manager.

The gardens and grounds are lovely but in places are a little unkempt, lovely flowers and scenery surrounds the garden and the outdoor area is very nice for getting married in- very picturesque. The rooms are well decorated and fitted out to look very modern, the wallpaper is carefully chosen and each room has a nice distinct style. The beds are very soft, so not great if you have a bad back, but they are comfortable for normal people to sleep on. The bar is reasonably priced and well stocked and the food that was served at the wedding I was at was well prepared, tasty and hot.

There is nothing, for me, that was exceptional about the visit but it is lovely countryside hotel that will make the right client feel right at home

The food was ok but not amazing, rooms were tidy and beds were clean but very soft. In my opinion could do with being updated, the bar area was nice and relaxing but slightly over priced! The young girl who works there is amazing she was very helpful and nothing was to much trouble, the owner was slightly over friendly to some guests but also came off a bit rude to others, he also wasn't very helpful towards the photographer she found it hard to do her job! But my sister had a great day!

Finger test revealed dust everywhere too . Found the woman who gave us our key quite abrupt and again later on the bar . Only nice thing was the breakfast this morning although we waited a while . That was because there was one young lady trying to do everything . She however was very sweet and polite . Paid a lot less for a lot better !!!!
