Oaksey CE Primary school are holding an information and advice session for Hobbes Alliance schools. The session is specifically aimed at parents and carers of children with social communication difficulties, including a diagnosis of Autism, but open to all. Children have been incredibly creative in their costumes for the NSPCC Number Day. So far we have raised an amazing £76 and the children are loving the number focused day. NSPCC

As part of Children's Mental Health week, our Parent Support Advisor held some story sessions with Beech, Apple and Oak classes today.
Children are enjoying a morning of Zumba today, a great way to start the morning. This activity is funded by the PE & Sports Grant.
All classes have been thinking about mental health this week. Here are some good ideas to help at home.
Our wishing tree has been created by the whole school and now has lots of wishes on it. This week in school we are celebrating Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme this year is “Find Your Brave”. We will been encouraging the children to think about brave things they have done and the skills and emotional “tools” they needed to use in order to achieve them. KS2 classes will be thinking about ways to keep their minds healthy whilst Foundation Stage and KS1 classes will be supported by our Parent Support Adviser, Terry Jones, in story sessions focused on being brave.

The PTA are showing Toy Story 4 today after school until 5pm. There are still spaces, please book via ParentMail or telephone the school office to reserve a place.
We are delighted to welcome the Dogs Trust Dogs Trust into school today. They will be talking to the children about responsible dog ownership and staying safe around dogs.
We had a busy day of sport yesterday. A team of year 5/6's took part in the County football finals, finishing 3rd - which is a fantastic achievement.
Mrs Goodey took a team of 11 gymnastics to the gymnastic cluster festival in Malmesbury, all gymnasts performed brilliantly and learnt some new skills. We are waiting to hear their final scores and positions.
We have welcomed The Royal Institution Royal Institution of Great Britain into school today. They have been carrying out numerous "exploding food" experiments with all the children. The children have loved it! Thank you to the PTA for funding and supporting this event. The event was kindly sponsored by Malmesbury Carnival Committee.
Willow class are receiving 4 hours of free fencing lessons thanks to a grant supported by Swindon Fencing Club. The project is funded by Heart Research UK in conjunction with Subway
Today the whole school has enjoyed an amazing day of Opera - thanks to the The Wiltshire Music Connect.
Yesterday Oak class were learning all about Chinese New Year. They discovered that they were born in either the year of the Goat or Horse.
Apple class have been learning about the different parts of the body during their science lesson today.
Maple class have been busy making potions this morning. They have made Helious Potion, Secret Snitcher Potion, Troll Bogies and Fizzying Whizbees!
