Leaders Surbiton - Letting & Estate Agents

I'm generally not a fan of negative reviews, quite often most are petty and pointless but unfortunately my recent dreadful experience with Leaders of Surbiton could be useful for anyone considering renting one of their advertised properties. My wife and I saw a flat we liked and immediately called Leaders for more information, one of my first questions being are there any restrictions regarding children? To which I was informed there were none. We viewed the flat and made an offer of the full asking price and stated we would be able to move into the flat in three and a half weeks. We were told the Landlord didn't want to discuss paperwork with us for another week as he wanted someone to move in sooner. The leaders office staff assured us the flat would be ours and not to worry, we would have pulled out then and there were it not for this reassurance. After a week we were told to wait another 3 days as the Landlord was away. Finally the Lanlord agreed and accepted our holding deposit. With less that a week and a half to go before the move with removals booked and new home insurance ordered, we were informed by Leaders that the Landlord didn't want children in his property and had never agreed to children! So thanks to Leaders we could have been homeless in 10 days.

The communication from Leaders was poor from the start, abrupt, and lacking any urgency, which is very unhelpful when moving home. The £492 admin fee is extortionate but fortunately we did get this back. If looking for a first rate professional service my advice would be to look elsewhere.

Leaders have managed my property for 3 years. They have found excellent and reliable tenants and have always responded promptly to any problems. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

l am very happy with Leaders, l struggled to rent out my flat and after 1 phone call l was very impressed with their services. They were quick ,professional and best of all they found me a tenant very quickly with their knowledge of the market. They know the market well and they found me a tenant very quickly at a competitive price. They kept me informed of the process at every opportunity and l am very happy with the service they provide.

We have three flats in Surbiton all managed by Leaders. Over 10 years we have had no voids of any significance. Leaders have been diligent in their daily management of the properties keeping us informed of all significant events making the task of ownership easy for owners like us who have jobs to hold down too. We are now buying properties elsewhere and are disappointed that Leaders do not have offices in that area
