Wishing good luck to our Year 10 Maths group sitting the intermediate UK maths challenge!

Music students across Year 9 and 10 worked with local musician and guitarist Chris Woods last week on a newly composed piece of music. Aimed at guitarists of all levels, the piece allowed many students to be involved and be part of a bigger performance even if they hadn’t picked up the instrument before!
Part of the Light Up Poole Festival, the piece will be performed at the Guildhall in Poole on 20th February. We encourage any students looking to take part on the night to register via the link sent to parents last week. Please get in contact with Mr Hayman if you have any questions!

We are delighted to confirm that plans for the 2020 Leavers' Prom are well underway. Year 11 and year 13 students are invited to collect a letter from main reception or Mrs Hawkins' office for all the information. Parents/Carers of year 11 and year 13 student's have been emailed.

For all students looking to show off their songwriting ability - don’t miss out on entering The Young Songwriter Competition 2020!
With a selection of A-List judges and some great prizes on offer, it is the perfect platform both for students who are already writing their own songs and for budding lyricists and musicians who want to write their first song.
Closing date is 31st March 2020 (Just before Easter holiday!)

Here is some of the recent training that’s been taking place on the Sport’s ‘Fundamental Friday sessions’.
At LeAF Studio we emphasise the importance of avoiding students becoming ‘early specialised’ in their sport.
Early specialisation limits the improvement in overall motor skills, social skills, physical capabilities and a narrow mindset approach on training.
... As our students complete vigorous and comprehensive training schedules through the week in their specialism, it’s important that we focus on different multilateral skills that can enhance a long term approach.
