Leamington Spa Shopmobility

We have recently gained two new volunteers, Tracey and Geoff. Thanks to both, and we hope you will enjoy working with us. At our AGM on Tuesday this week two of our long-serving trustees, Pauline and Sidney, stood down. Many thanks to them for their committment to us over the years. Fortunately we have three new trustees - welcome to Sue (already a volunteer) and Town Councillors Julija and Dave. Without our trustees and volunteers we could not continue to provide our service.

We have a used scooter for sale - a 'Rascal 245'. It's a 3-wheeler so it's very maneuverable, with two small additional wheels at the front to give it the stability of a 4-wheeler. No guarantee, but only £200. Come in and see it!

We've been given a Solex folding scooter by a generous donor, and Robin's got it working. It's going to join our long-term hire fleet - ideal for holidays.

Apologies to anyone who found us closed today. Our manager, Robin, was struck down by a nasty tummy bug but we will be open again tomorrow with Richard in charge.

We hope you are having a good Easter and not missing us too much. We'll be open again on Tuesday (23rd April)

Now is the time to book your portable scooter if you want one for the Easter period. If you have an hour or two to spare each week, we are still looking for volunteers to help us.

Hi shopmo Robin here I would like to thank everybody that signed my get well card . I am a Bit sore but am on track to be back on Monday.

A kind lady today gave us a scooter and a power-assisted wheelchair that had belonged to her late husband. We already know of a deserving home for the wheelchair. The scooter will be refurbished by our manager (and resident engineer) Robin and could be added to our fleet for hire.
We need your help to make more use of such donations. Just an hour's volunteering a week would make a difference. Do please get in touch!

We re-launched our Accessible Leamington leaflet on Friday last week. You can get a free copy from our shop on level 4 of the Royal Priors car park, from Leamington Spa Town Hall or download it from our website.

Resurfacing of the car park near our shop is complete, though it's still going on elsewhere in the building. We hope to repaint our doors soon, to complement the improved appearance.

It was five years ago today that Robin Brooks joined us as our manager, and we re-launched Leamington Spa Shopmobility with newly cleaned and decorated premises. Happy Birthday Us :)
The cabin car and the Quingo scooter have been sold now, but we have various used scooters still available. Still looking for volunteers too!

Work on the Royal Priors car park re-surfacing is going on outside our office, but we are still open as usual. Blue badge holders can park in any available space free of charge. The Cabin Car is still on display here but it may be going soon, so hurry if you would like to see it.

Thanks to a generous donation we have been able to buy some good second-hand furniture from Leamington Furnishers in Wharf St., Warwick, to replace the old metal filing cabinets and tidy up the office. Many thanks also to the gentleman from Royal Priors loading bay who brought them up to the 4th floor for us! We now have more room for you to have a seat while we fetch a scooter or wheelchair for you.

We have a used Quingo Classic scooter for sale at just £500. It has 5 wheels for stability and maneuverability, plus an adjustable seat, and would be very expensive new. You can see and try it at our shop on 4th floor, Royal Priors car park. The demonstration cabin car is still at our shop too.

For the next few days we will have a demonstration model Cabin Car mobility scooter in our shop, on loan from Wenman Healthcare. Come and have a look, and even a test drive! Please note that the Royal Priors car park is being resurfaced at present, so the number of spaces is slightly reduced. Blue Badge holders can park in any space free of charge.

Wenman Healthcare have a display in the Royal Priors this week outside M&S on Upper Mall, with our banner featured. You can talk to an expert from Wenman about mobility aids. Come and see us too, on the 4th floor! Thanks to Charlotte at Wenman's and Sarah from Royal Priors.

We have a large used scooter for sale at only £500. The Freerider Kensington-S does 8mph and has suspension for comfort. Give us a call for more information or drop in to see it.

January and February are usually quiet in town, so an ideal time to hire a scooter and visit the shops in Leamington. Only £5 for the day.
