Absolutely disgusted with the rude staff. Not helpful at all. From the start of what was meant to be a nice weekend away turned out to be awful. Disrespectful staff, the site was unclean with grass full of poo. Grass wasn't cut. I would not recommend this campsite to anyone unless they sort the staff out. They have no customer service skills at all.

Don't bother visiting for the day, staff turned us away claiming they were fully booked when there was clearly space
We wanted to visit the park for the day, they let us through the barrier and asked us to report to reception but somebody stopped before we got there saying they were fully booked and that we had to leave.
The camping park looked like it had lots of free spaces and did not look busy at all, so we did not buy the excuse for one minute. They just could not be bothered to take a day booking rather than an overnight.
The staff was unwelcoming and rude. I don't think I'll ever come back as this really ruined our family plans for the day including a 2h drive with a very upset baby. So avoid!

We loved this place from the start. We stayed in a chief wigwam, which states that it sleeps 4 but has 5 sleeping areas. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My kids wanted to fish whilst we were there but I knew nothing on how to set up the new rods we brought with us. Andy was amazing and not only took time to set up our rods but gave my children a little lesson in how to do everything and taught me how to de-hook a fish. We hired a campfire pit which we cooked a bbq on then later on put chopped logs on (which you can buy there for £5 a bag) and made a campfire at night. We are definitely going back next year.

Today I had to do a delivery here. Whilst driving through it I thought it looked amazing. It seemed very peaceful and very clean and tidy. I was wondering why I had never stayed here myself and was making plans in my head to book up a weekend pitch to try it out. After I completed my delivery I had a man sign my paperwork, and although I didn't catch his name I did notice that on his name badge it said "campsite manager"... It was as if this guy was just waiting to sign so he could then straight away reel off racist joke after racist joke. It was honestly relentless and I was shocked and confused as to why he felt it was appropriate to tell these sorts of jokes to a complete stranger trying to do a job!

Needless to say I will not be staying here if this place is being managed by a casual racist with no people skills.

We tented in early September with 7 kids. The campsite is very functional, with good soft flat ground, decent amenities, very good staff, but I can't give it more than 2 stars because my opinion of the location makes it not very good, especially when Debden House camping is so close and considerably nicer. Many people were fishing, and that seems to be an attraction which didn't apply for us.

The tenting area is just one small portion of the field surrounded by the glamping huts (at the northern most end, not currently visible on google satellite view). Although there is space, there was not really enough space to adopt a playing area. You can't play in the river (local by-laws), and there weren't any woods to play in or collect wood from. You couldn't make too much noise, because it was tight, but they were OK with fire pits and BBQs.

Worst of all was the proximity to the industrial estate and train line. Even at 4am on a Sunday, the noise of train horns was not insignificant (we didn't sleep), and the neighbouring warehouse's floodlights made the view feel more like being homeless than camping.

This isn't the site's fault, of course, but next time, we'll go back to Debden.

Awful: the pitch and all the grass along the campsite was full of dogshit, disgusting, when it is supposed to be a clean space to play (we travelled with a 2-year-old child) moreover at the moment of the payment; they charged you an extra-2€(not euro but pound) fee for card payments. Facilities really basic and kind of unkind staff. I wouln't recommend this place.
