A message from Leeds Stand Up To Racism: Saturday 27 April is a national Stand Up To Racism Day of Action Against the Far Right in the run up to the local elections. Leeds SUTR will be giving out flyers "keep racism out of the election" in town that day. The Far Right ‘Yellow Vests’ who have attempted to rally in Leeds before are wanting to gather in town on that day too - join Leeds SUTR in City Square keeping Leeds racist and fascist free. International Workers Memorial Day is taking place on Friday 26 April 2019 at Victoria Gardens, (outside Central Library) The Headrow, Leeds. Speakers include Hilary Benn MP, Trade Unions and Leeds City Council. Deaths caused by hazardous substances at work are at an all-time high, linked to 1 million preventable deaths worldwide each year. You are welcome to attend and lay a wreath. If you can't attend, please observe one minute's silence at 12 noon in memory of those who have lost their lives as a result of their work. REMEMBER THE DEAD: FIGHT FOR THE LIVING.

Leeds UNISON is organising an event to celebrate Brian’s life and contribution to the Labour movement. This will take place on Friday 26 April 2019 at the Victoria Pub on Great George Street, Leeds. The event will start from 5 pm with speeches taking place at 6 pm. Anyone wishing to speak is asked to contact the branch in advance on 0113 245 8442.
All who knew Brian are invited to come along to celebrate his life. Food will be provided.
A collection will be held for St Gemma’s Hospice.
