Let'S Bike - Eastbourne

I was happy to get an economical rental on a sturdy, well functioning bike for several days riding. The bike was in good working condition and I had no troubles riding Dover to Eastbourne as well as the cuckoo trail. The owner was most helpful and cheerful.
I’ll definitely be back to use the service next time I’m back in East Sussex.

Loved this place so much. Man who runs this business is very helpful and polite and told me what kind of bike I should get. Would recommend to anyone.

I rarely have reason to write reviews but I feel I should inform people about this appalling company.

My 15 year old foreign student hired a bike from Stephen at ‘Lets Bike’.
He let her hire a bike without asking for proof of age or parental/guardian consent.
My student was offered a helmet (she didn’t take it) which is her fault, however this wasn’t insisted upon by the vendor. Unfortunately she was hit by a car the following week after hire, luckily she only sustained minor injuries.
I understand accidents do happen, however I called Stephen to inform him of what happened and of the points above. He was defensive, rude and told me he was “having a bad day and refunds are out of his control” he asked me to text him my name and address and offered to collect the bike.

I called him later that evening to ask what was happening (as I hadn’t heard from him) he said he decided he wouldn’t refund her money due or collect the bike AND blamed me for the her accident!

Personally I would never ride a bike in this country without a helmet, let alone hire one to a 15 year old from another country without insisting a helmet be worn .
I would also like to point out the bike was hired in bad condition with gaffer tape around the gears. The bike looked very unsafe.

Absolutely appalling and negligent service.

Steve, the owner was very helpful and at short notice. We hired two bikes, one adult, one child and both were mechanically good and safe. They were secondhand in appearance but that was not a problem to us as the mechanics were the important issue. Price was very good and we will definitely use again.

Very good service. I am happy about the price paid and the bike obtained. I sold my old bike and bought a new one with a deduction. I bought the bike one month ago, maybe a bit more and so far I am quite happy with the bike. No problem at all. The man who sold the bike is nice and friendly. I met his wife and she was lovely as well.

I would recommend to the people to buy. My personal opinion is he is reliable and serious.

Spoke to Steve the week before needed the bikes and he was very helpful. Very easy to pick up, don't be worried about the residential location! Steve has an great array of bikes and made sure we all felt safe and secure on the ones he chose for us. You are able to hire locks and helmets as well. We went along the Coastal Cultural Trail and the bikes absolutely suited our needs for this. Great to support a local business and would go back again!

With my partner, we rented mountain bikes for a day trip to the beach head and Long man, had a great time. Steve cares about his bikes with apparent love, they are not new, but in excellent condition. It was nice to deal with him, he's very flexible and reliable. Thank you

Steve is a really nice guy who cares about what he does. I have bought bikes from him and had bikes repaired by him. I am always 100% confident in the service he gives. Thoroughly recommended and great value for money.
