Operation hold it down over Christmas almost complete ๐ - Having built a base over the last few months (beginning prep for my show early) coach @deanstm gave the green light for some festive spirit. Iโve been able to go out with friends, socialise and enjoy some scran along the way! ๐ท - If anything I find I under eat over Christmas as my sweet tooth is poor and leaves me appetite low. Plus Iโm not a beer drinker so overall calories are less. ... - New Years celebrations left before I reach the โ14 weeks outโ mark for my first show of the year and finalising the game plan with my sponsor and 1 of my mentors @alistnutrition. After this point it will be undivided focus and energy into proving you can be down and out and reach your goal, whatever that is. ๐ - Grateful and blessed to have so much positivity in my life, family, friends and followers. The importance of down time in the fitness industry ๐ - For those in the industry, particularly as self employed PTโs Iโve found over the years fitness professionals whom are successful often find themselves in a cycle of work > work > take on more work > burn out> Repeat. Iโve known PTโs end up in hospital from being that stressed and run down. I personally have suffered with similar. - For me picking and being in control of when to enjoy the social/ fun aspects of life is c...rucial in allowing me to be; 1) Personable 2) Recharged and able to give 100% to clients. - Yes in order to reach any goal you must sacrifice, but thereโs certainly a line the other way which can be just as detrimental to being successful in the fitness industry. โ๏ธ ๐บ ๐โโ๏ธ -

Are you training hard enough? - The last year or so has seen the rise in a those wanting to build muscle stick to a religious training principle consisting of a given exercise completed for 1-2 sets for X reps. - This training style then basis itโs progress on beating your previous weight lifted. Despite it sounding like Power Lifting we must remember that the fundamental for adaptation (growing muscle) is that the exercise must be in an environment of intensity with optimum... form. - Donโt get caught up in beating your bench press by 0.25kg when the set itself wasnโt HARD. Iโm not saying it doesnโt work at all, intact I myself do implement the fundamentals of it (lift more than last time). We just see the top 1% who have mastered it and can execute that style with INTENSITY not the bigger pool of people who Iโve seen anyway. - Be interesting to hear others opinions, no such thing as wrong or right, just another way todo it. #TEAMBLACKMORE 1-1 PT Client @holly.lj. - Holly and I have been working together for almost 2 years now. Things started on an online basis with a more CrossFit/ Functional focus. Fast forward 6 months we started working on a 1-1 basis. - This led to enjoying a more progressive overload style of training with a focus on strength at compound lifts (and having enough of my sickening WODโs I think).... - Having built a great baseline of training and nutrition (keeping the โsnackidentsโ to a minimum) we begun comp prep to which saw her compete in a UKBFF and PCA show. 144 bagels, over 5kg of cereal, 12 โcheat mealsโ, 5 birthday celebrations (which I enjoyed lol) and 12 weeks of calculated math later here is the end product of the cut. Realistically if I wanted to compete I would need to dig deeper for another 4-6 weeks, none the less very happy with where I am! - The point I always try to make throughout this is that you donโt have to restrict yourself of your favourite foods completely in order to reach your fatloss goals.๐ช - Yes you do n...eed to be strict to an extent (I have eaten the same macros/ calories everyday, no diverting from plan with flat whites, chocolates and the small tasty stuff). But you can enjoy yourself along the way if itโs calculated! ๐ - My main focus was ensuring I did it the same 5 meals per day (1 of which being the famous PM bagel). Whilst incorporating everything I enjoyed into those meals.
