Liberal International

The car carrying Cellou Dalein Diallo, a vice president on the #Liberal International bureau and former prime minister of #Guinea, was shot at today as the African liberal was travelling to attend a demonstration in protest at the 2018 local election results in the west African country.
LI president, Dr Juli Minoves said: “We are repulsed by this cowardly attack against our friend and colleague Cellou, a Bureau Vice-President of Liberal International. We issue a strong condemnation and we reach out to you in solidarity. I admire the courage of Cellou in these trying circumstances and his continued commitment to our liberal values to the peril of his life.”

Liberal International (LI) has been mentioned as one of the experts in the official United Nations Expert Group meeting report on "Violence against Women in Politics".
LI human rights committee member, Marina Schuster​, is quoted in the report saying that "[Gender-based] violence is not part of the job. Those who say things like this do it because they know they have lost the argument (or have none) and are using gendered threats as a very mean instrument against women"

Addressing the delegates of Parti du Mouvement Populaire - Maroc / حزب الحركة الشعبية - المغرب's 13th national congress in #Rabat last weekend, LI president Dr Juli Minoves told the Moroccan Liberals: “Liberalism is about equal opportunity and sustainable economic development.”
